I love the Half Shell when I come back to visit.

I have not seen 2 bars mentioned in this thread that are near my downtown hotel I always stay at - Bardog, Brass Door (more of a weird soccer bar, but still)

Liverpool whipped Arsenal's arse. Up 5-nil, they kept attacking like crazy. Loved it and I didn't care who won. Good soccer crowds at Brass Door and Celtic.

I can't figure if that place is closed down or not. I drove by on a Sat. night within the last couple of weeks around 8:30pm and it was closed. That says to me: closed for business. But just to make sure before I posted a response to you here, I went to Urban spoon, and sure enough, there is a review from some guy on Feb 8th 2014. Course, he said everything was "cold", so maybe it was a prank?

I would question the business intelligence of the operators to invest as much as they did in the facilities to shut down so soon.

Bonfire, country girls, cold beer, crank up the old country music. Doesn't mean much for a Tiger game, but it sure sounds a lot better than a night out in a city.

LOL. Great post.

Bonfire? I still live in the City. Believe it or not, my town of 4,000 would frown on that. Country Girls? Happily married to one. Old Country Music? Yeah, I'm game. I noticed you said, "old" Country music. Right on.

But, I still miss Huey's, Corky's, Chinese Sub Shop, Silky's, Half Shell, Blue Monkey, Gills (I hate that place closed) and Newby's! Best restaurants per capita in the whole world.

Sure, this is a "grass is greener" post, but you have to remember, I know all the die-hard tiger fans in town. There's about 5 of them. This is Vol Country.... 03-puke

Where you at rad ?

It's no secret. I live in Huntingdon, TN. Home of the Huntingdon Mustangs!

Very nice community , I've been there many times when working . Our little town has the same issue with the orange crap , but we are seeing more and more Tigers stuff . Most fans here are handicapped though because the Choctaws wear orange also .

You forgot pickup trucks. I second Max's. I was staying downtown once and found an oasis of locals in a sea of tourists.
