I was watching Tiger basketball before he was born. Watched the coaches TV shows and listened to the radio shows for years. Kirk had the best TV show hands down because he taught you the plays and told you how to they play. Like always zone when the other team has the ball under their basket to prevent backdoor plays. When you watched a game you were more involved because you understood what he was doing because he told you.
That said I never listen to Pastner. He provides nothing of value to me regarding the game.
I'm thinking of taking his advice. Does anyone happen to have Dave Joerger's number or email?
When Cal was leaving for Kentucky, I was fine with it. He gave us 9 years and the last 4 were amazing. Anyone who witnessed the 2007 team getting to the Elite 8, who says he can't coach, is full of ****. The entire team and the coach got phenomenally unlucky in 2008. Otherwise, he did a great job of coaching that team too. Getting the 2009 team to #2 in the country was also an amazing feat. If Cal would have left with class, I would have nothing but gratitude and admiration for him.
He should have realized that the fanbase was upset, and he should have taken the high road. What he did on the way out and since he has been at Kentucky is despicable. He had no reason to be so spiteful and petty.

Agree. Until he pulled his "oh my God what should I do" routine on the way out, I loved the guy. In the end though he was nothing more than a greaseball, too much cologne (almost knocked me out), traveling salesman.

Pretty much sums it up.
I remember a couple of guys selling these outside the Forum....they made a killing that night.
Cal used Memphis to get us both back into the Big Dance to find the girl he really wanted. He decided it best for himself to go home from the dance with the other girl in a blue dress and leave Memphis standing alone on the dance floor. That is the legacy he chose to leave behind and defines his career at Memphis in a nutshell. Rejection happens. It sucks, but it won't be the last time. We got dumped by the popular kid. Fortunately Memphis picked up a coach that has us dancing again. Enjoy the rest of the show.

I fully believe that had the NCAA letter not shown, Cal would still be coaching at Memphis. It wasn't just that Kentucky came calling. It was that he was trying like hell to get out of Memphis to keep from getting busted.
Just a question. But if calipari broke the rules in such a deliberate and purposeful way, wouldn't the NCAA punish him regardless if he was coaching elsewhere?

Nail meet hammer. Ky or Arizona is where he would be. Not here.

Or perhaps Toronto, at the time. Now, it would more likely be the Knicks, if he decided to jump again.

We got punched in the mouth, and we didn't respond. Said it four times. Looked more to me like our game plan got punched in the mouth, and we didn't respond.
