I don't know. You know how he gets after a win. He likes to say funny things.

I will say I think he coached a great game tonight. I liked the zone, I really liked how he called timeouts, he did really really well in my opinion. As for that statement...that is dumb as crap. Listening to him after games suck, so I don't do it. I much prefer to watch him coach than to listen to him talk about basketball.

Well, Do you know in what context he said this? I certainly don't, so your little dig at coach is in poor taste

It's not a dig ... Pastner likes to go into coach speak, I like the guy, but sometimes he gets boring. I hated listening to Cal too ... same stupid stories over and over ... please tell us about the for sale signs again Cal!

I can see that, few coaches are great post game interviews and Pastner is not that different.

I am more concerned with his team preparation and in-game coaching (good and getting better) than his post game pressers. He can read the Betty Crocker cookbook so long as the team plays well.

I'll tell you someone who was fun listening to after a game... Hell, anytime. Coach Kirk. Always made me laugh.

This is exactly the way I think. I don't listen anymore to him because it isn't any fun for me. However, his coaching tonight was very good. The moves he made were good ones. I love the zone. If Shaq hadn't gotten into foul trouble in the first half I think we would have rebounded better in the zone. Again, it is more important what he does during the game than what he says after the game. If others like it, so be it....Listen on.

I hate the zone against a team WE should be able to guard...It is such a bailout and our total ignorance on how to stop that high screen was just so frustrating.
Tonight was not the first time CJP has said that. I think he is half serious and half in jest when he says it, but I wish he would stop. It is very annoying and sounds elitist when he says it.

Syracuse does a zone all the time against good teams and bad teams that they could easily guard against with their athletes. Are they bailing out because they can't guard anyone? This team isn't Syracuse for sure but using a zone and doing it effectively is just another tool and a positive, not a negative as some would see it.
03-hissyfit I remember posters on here complaining about Cal never using a zone and now they are complaining because Pastner is using a zone sometime. Good Grief, Charley Brown.
16 - 4; on to SMU.

There isn't any comparison between listening to Cal and listening to Josh. One had and still does have a gift for the gab, Dana had it too. Again sorry I can't please some of you here. You hated Cal. This is evident. I sure hope you bashed him and trashed why he was here. Or did you become a flip flopper? Oh to answer your question, no I didn't like listening to Cal say when we were at umass over and over. But throwing that out he is still way better at talking than Josh. To say he isn't is silly.
Well, he was a lot easier to listen to after Sweet 16s than before....lol
