Recruiting is now stretching to our great north neighbor. ODU offers Hergy Mayala from Montreal. We are his third scholarship offer. His second offer was from Rutgers (there is a 3rd offer, not sure who it is from). One thing is for sure, it will be a lot warmer here compared to a Canadian or a North Jersey winter.

I watched his video, and he already has a nice collection of pancake blocks on his resume. Sometimes with big offensive linemen like this, it is hard to evaluate just how good they are because on the unknown nature of the competiton, but I think this young man is the real deal and will make a valuable addition to the Monarchs. I hope we sign him.

I like his attitude, same here AGGIE.
I hope we can stay out in front with this guy.

He looks like solid athlete with size. We are yet to open our commitment list for 2015 I think we have Brandon Tyson on the list for 2014 by this time last year. Can't wait for the excitement to resume and looks like our cusa broths already started down that path.

Harry wrote in his blog about Ishmael Hyman, a highly-recruited 3* wide receiver from New Jersey, who is looking to transfer from Kansas, being on the sidelines watching practice at ODU with his mother and a high school team mate. he is 6 ft. and 180 and was, also, a high school track star.

I wonder why he wants to leave Kansas. Hopefully, he just wants to get closer to home.

I don't have any strong feelings about Charlie Weis, but come now let's not be petty. We have the opportunity to bring in another talented WR, albeit he would have to sit a year.

I was listening to Bobby Wilders comments from todays summer practice (6th posted on MM). Just happened to catch it when Wilder said we had "30 -40 High School recruits at the practice today to watch". He mentioned many were 2014 players that will be at ODU starting this year, however I am assuming 1/2 or more maybe 2015 recruits we are reaching out to. I think the numbers keep building from year to year with the interest level for ODU football. I feel the Aim High and Raise the Bar has becoming the battle cry culture of our program. Just nice to hear.
