Have never done the 5 Guys. All I hear about is the enormous order of fries and the nearly $10 combo price. Doesn't sound like my kind of place. Sitting here eating my Tops as I type. Always good and a very decent price.

Tops hamburger is a little bit better than Five Guys, although you've got way more options for toppings at Five Guys.

Five Guys fries are light years better than Tops.

If someone else is paying, I'd rather have Five Guys. But if I'm paying I'd rather have Tops.

Just start washing it down with water. I thinks it's still free, unless they put it in a plastic bottle.

I love Tops, but you are right about the frys. Hell, you can't even get fries at some of the Tops locations.

The new Tops on Poplar is coming along pretty well. My guess is that it will be open by April.

I prefer the two on Summer Avenue, but they are all pretty equal in quality.

Where on Poplar are they building the Tops? I hope close to Germantown.

Have been to all of them over the years. Can't really say that one is better than the other. Of course many people have their favorite location.

Brookhaven Circle by Clark Tower. I hear that parking is gonna be a big issue there, but that remains to be seen.

Thanks for answering my question. I think I was being ignored because I sent a PM as well, but got no reply. That's ok though, no biggie.

Reminds me of when I was in Memphis last year and had barbecue every single meal for 3 days. Once each day I actually went straight from one place directly to another. The only non barbecue meal I had was at Gus's right before going back to the airport.

So is that seasons 412 or whatever opening at the same time?
I've been to Capital Grille exactly once, when I was in Orlando for work. Food was great, and after the cocktails & wine, holy cow, so was the bill (over $500 for 3 people.)

Season's opens this week. Very cool building. Unfortunately I no longer have a standing in the biz and failed to get invited to either soft opening.

If y'all ever make it to the Austin area try to go to one of the many Mighty Fine locations. Great burgers.

There isn't going to be a lot of parking. They had to fit in on a pretty tight site.

My brother has been talking about doing a BBQ tour one Saturday. Start at the Germantown Commissary and then hit three or four places (Central, Paynes, BBQ Shop, Cozy Corner, etc.) on the way down to the Rendezvous.

Tops on Union Ave during the lunch shift is my go-to.

Five Guys just isn't worth it to me, cost-wise. I'd need two of those burgers to satiate my hunger and it's just not tasty enough for me. If I want a burger, they're probably option #5 at best.

The burger at Bryant's was really good for a plain ole old fashioned burger.

We must have a person with Central BBQ connections around. Made a post about not understanding the allure of Central and it got deleted. Kinda strange.

Ate there Sunday before the game. Have eaten there a few times and I just don't get it. Very average and way overpriced for what we got. I know it is personal preference and some people love it, I am just not one of them.
