That's two years in a row. Wow.

BGSU must be really good.

Agreed, my rankings through 5 games:

1. WMU

2. BGSU

3. Everyone else

Buffalo isn't even playing very poorly tonight. Ball State does not look like a team who has only won one D1 game.

Buffalo falls to 2-2 on the year vs teams with RPI +300.

So confused by this team. You never know who will show up on any given night. To shoot less than 8% from three is inexcusable and I'm not sure McCrea even took a shot inthe last 5 minutes after putting up 27 points in the first 31 minutes.

Two huge differences for the Cards tonight

- 13 turnovers. They have been north of 20 darn near every game
- Berry showed up. He hasn't been a factor in weeks

Really solid game from the Cards. That was the potential I thought they'd have this year. Tough playing so many freshmen and not having a junior or sophomore class to speak of (thanks, Billy Taylor), but they can pull efforts like this, though they hadn't done it since Butler and Indiana State early in the season. Now they need to follow it up and not fall back into turnover hell...

This is the most parity I've seen from the MAC in a long time. And that's saying something.

Is it growing pains, as the conference improves as a whole (as evidenced by the much improved conference RPI this year)? I certainly hope so.

Offensively, Majok held his own but McCrae is a freaking beast. The Cards had no answer for him.

Buffalo had plenty of open 3's but went 1-14. I think they had 3 chances in the end.

Its wide open this year. Fewer terrible teams and no great teams. On a given nite any team in this league can be beat. Not sayng every team can win. but the top teams in the MAC don't come to play every nite. They can be beat when they don't show up. No team in this league has a strong enough team to quit playing after the first ten minutes. Even good coaches like Christian and Drambrot can't cover up the crap they have at the point guard position.

Agree. I thought going into this season that there was enough balance that the regular season champ would still have 3 losses. Now I'm thinking it may even get to 4 conference losses with some tie-breakers involved. Gonna be an interesting next few weeks.

Since they moved to the East, they've only finished better than 5th in the division once. It's easy to see why teams don't get "up" to play BG.

BG regularly embarrasses Ohio, so there's no excuse.

that's true as backed up by the fact that BG is the only team in the MAC against which we have a losing series record.

Are they going to put white t-shirts over the backs of all the empty chairs?

If Ohio fans/alums/students show, the visitor bench is section 108.

Will Ohio bring a hundred or two hundred fans?

Six MAC teams now stand at 3-2 in conference. This parity will keep all teams jockeying for position in the MAC tournament & first round byes.

WMU continues to puzzle: will they handle Ball St after a road win at KSU or revert to last weeks form?

They have to solve the turnover issue, averaging 18.4 through the 5 MAC games. So far WMU has shown that good shooting can cover many issues.
