I realize heart surgery is a serious thing and if that's why he isn't playing wouldn't he be eligible for a medical redshirt? If he's not playing because Bartow just doesn't like to use his bench then it looks like we've wasted an entire year on him. I just don't get it. I don't get not using Banks either, he looked solid against KSU. Harris should be getting much more minutes too.
I know Giplaye used his redshirt sitting out last year but if there was EVER a strong case for a kid getting a 6th year I think open heart surgery would be right near the top. Maybe Giplaye doesn't want to wait another year and play 2 more after that. I don't know. I honestly don't think he will be back next year so that is why I haven't included him in our desperate need for several bigs next year. I could be wrong, we will see. I also wouldn't be surprised if D. Harris leaves if he continues to get jerked around like has so far this year.

Outside of free throws Riley is a horrible shooter. 338 from the field and .319 from 3pt range and he has taken the 2nd most shots on the team behind ReShawn all while being 7th in minutes played (though he is quickly closing in on Lester for 6th). Throw out the game against Tusculum and his stats get really sad, his best percentage in a game where he has taken more then 5 shots (he had a 1-2 and 2-4 game) is 4-10 against Winthrop. Bartow said last night the plan was to get the ball to Riley for the last shot, knowing his stats I don't understand why.
Also this morning on the Monster he said he could have pressed at the end on the final shot but he doesn't like to.
Yeah, I don't get that either, I think Rembert would be the man to get the ball for any last shot situations, but what do I know.

Unbelievable. Lipscomb could barely get the ball past the half-court line (when we pressed) and Bartow makes us a statement like that. Worst-case scenario they beat the press for an easy bucket, and we have the ball with time.
Banks lack of PT is the latest in a long line of players who Bartow has given lip service to about PT. Bartow recently stated that "he'd be amazed if Banks didn't start next season...", and yet he's not playing him AT ALL? I'd be disgruntled if I was Isaac.

I would be amazed if he didn't start to (if he is still here) since he will be the only returning player over 6'4 next year. Again not counting Gilplaye since he is big??? at this point.

I would assume it is because Jalen is the only guy we have who can handle the ball well AND get his own shot. Rashawn does better on catch and shoot or one dribble shots. While Jalen's percentages are terrible, we had to go full length of the court with 3 seconds versus pressure D for the last attempt.

I might be mistaken, but I do not think that Rembert was in the game on that final possession.

Rembert wasn't in on the last possession. Bartow was swapping in and out for offense and defense and he didn't get back in. I thought Rembert's quote this morning in the paper was telling that "they weren't ready to play defense" or something of the like

I didn't realize that. Pretty stupid if you ask me, he's our best shooter. Yeah I guess Jalen is quicker and can handle the ball better but you should always have your best shooters on the court for those situations.

RE: Official Game Thread: Lipscomb (L 80-82)
Does anyone remember our 2nd ever A-Sun conference game back in 2005-06? Coincidentally, Lipscomb got us by 2 here in the Dome back then as well. So, it seems we're finishing the in-conference at home Lipscomb rivalry exactly as it started . . . a 2 point loss. Now, let's hope the road game this season fairs better than the one back in '06, when we went to Nashville and got pounded by 20.
