RE: Iverson Is Going To Be Very Good
Austin Nichols has 53 rebounds, 3 assists, 15 blocks and 5 steals in 264 minutes played
averages/minute : 0.2 reb/min, 0.01 a/min, 0.05 b/min, 0.02 s/min
Kuran Iverson has 16 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals in 85 minutes played
averages/minute : 0.18 reb/min, 0.11 a/min, 0.02 b/min, 0.02 s/min

I am not saying to start Iverson over Nichols, but I am saying maybe you need to lighten up on Iverson. Especially painting him as a selfish player, unless your ready to say Nichols is even more selfish? I would guess that if Nichols wasn't here, Iverson might be sharing minutes evenly with Pellom and would have adjusted to the college game by now.

Silly comparison. Nichols is playing prime time minutes while Iverson is getting in at the end of games when the intensity level is way down and usually the other team has subs in. Also, Nichols is a pure post player and is not expected to have a high assist total. Iverson plays on the wing and is expected to be a passer. If Nichols was not here King would be getting the lion share of extra minutes with Pellom moving to the starting roll. I have full faith that Iverson will be fine, but he is not ready at this point. It is evident when he is on the court. There is a reason he is not seeing many minutes at this point, but he will get there with time. Like I said earlier, you can feel the talent oozing out of him.

I think you touch on part of the problem here... There are prob less minutes to be had there, but I think he needs his minutes in the post.. not out on the wing. I realize he can dribble a little and jack up an occasional 3, but we have a lot of guys that can do that... He's a 6' 10" big, why not run him at the 4 or 5?

I never thought much of it; but almost every high school highlight showed him with the ball outside and patiently waiting to make a move on an undersized opponent or take a shot. He seems to be doing the same thing now. He should be playing the 4 and maybe the 3, but I don't think he learned any moves with his back to the basket in high school.

He is behind the 8 ball for 3 reasons. First, its seems that he didn't learn any applicable skills to play at the 4. Second; he was used to being the man and doing whatever he wanted. Third, he came in late and was injured. I still say he is going to be a very good player.

RE: Iverson Is Going To Be Very Good
I think Iverson will be a great player. You can clearly see he has handles, speed and has a lot of tools a player his size doesn't normally have. He just needs to learn and let the game come to him. He really does force a lot. He just needs to slow down, work on his shot and develop a nice floater/pull up which I haven't seen yet.

At his size and with his current abilities especially at the 3 he would be a complete nightmare. That shot will be huge and the floater would be unstoppable. When he stops and pulls up from 6-10 feet he would be amazing if he learned how to use the glass. Kid has all the potential in the world. He just needs to realize that everything he used to do, doesn't apply here at the Div 1 level. You're not going to over athlete/over size many teams or players at this level.

As far as King goes, the kid fights for everything. I like him a lot as a player. If he were even 70% from the free throw line I think he'd be huge for us. He'll get there.

You can color me impressed if we ever have a 6' 10" wing with a good 6-10 foot floater in his arsenal.

6-10 foot floater? Pretty sure I said pull up. (Pull up jump shot)

The floater in general at his size would be great.

Having said that; he has a ton of talent. When he figures it out, he is going to be a terrific player for us. I have no idea when that will be.

Iverson and Dom need a lot of work. That guy from USF owned Dom last night.

Time for this site to require a mandatory contribution of $20. That way whenever losers like Saluki, you,Jake Show, Hoopdreams, Bluebeard, etc decide to throw out a new alias; you need to ask your boyfriends/mothers for their credit card and explain that you need it to create multiple identities on a message board.

If they did that Brooks and GeorgiaTiger would be bankrupt. I have it on good authority that a banned poster here DID indeed donate some money doe.
