RE: Official Game Thread: Valparaiso
Based on swvabucsfan's report, I am nervous about this game. As noted in his report, Valpo's strengths are our weaknesses, and their frontcourt resembles a BCS one. The 6'10" Capobianco sounds like a Brad Nuckles-type player with his ability to shoot 3's. Id love to see Giplaye get some PT and bang down some with these guys. Sometime you can disrupt bigs by getting really low and playing them physical.

As with every game this season, it'll come down to rebounding and getting stops. We're not going to hold opponents to under 70, but with the way we've been scoring I think we need only to get some timely stops and hold serve on the glass. I also think that Jalen Riley's recent emergence gives us a playmaker on offense.

Looking forward to this one.

Great start. Valpo looks perplexed by our D.

They have size but were making them look very unathletic.

Hopefully KGG tweaked that ankle enough to keep him on the bench. He is playing awful.

No one can accuse us of getting any home cooking from the refs.

This team is a 5 away from being pretty decent. You just can't "coach up" 6' 7" to be 6' 11".

You know, "coach up" is such a meaningless and over used colloquialism.

No look at his shooting percentage and turnovers

We don't win without him. Hopefully that ankle is in fine shape. Excellent win bucs.

RE: Official Game Thread: Valparaiso
As an FYI, Valpo is less than a third the size of ETSU and only a Carnegie class masters institution. I guess we just shouldn't be playing these small schools LOL.

I am glad he got his head out of his butt and played well for the last 3 minutes before he fouled out. But up until that point he had played like crap so yeah he needed to go ride the pine for a while, maybe he did him some good.

RE: Official Game Thread: Valparaiso
I thought today was a great win- we made them look really bad most of the game. We knew that we would get out-rebounded and we did, but we did not let them hit 3's, we played scrappy, etc.

At this point if we win 75% of our conference games (which we should), we are back at 20-21 wins. Only bad part of that is that Bartow probably saves his job at that point.

A great win, we showed resiliency and poise tonight. We continue to get outstanding guard play, timely shooting, and key stops. Our hands and activity on defense reminded me of the Wadood-Fields-Smith teams where seemingly every possession they got a hand on the ball.

RE: Official Game Thread: Valparaiso
Hunter Harris gets my game ball: 2 pts., 8 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 2 steals despite giving up at least 4 inches and 30 lbs. If he could regularly play his natural position, he could be the best power forward in the league. I had forgotten how hard Hunter plays.
