Ohio lost this game in the 4th quarter by a lack of discipline and stupidity. Those roughness calls were valid and deserved. Hard to pull for players like that.

I'm not sure I'd say they got in their heads today. I think those calls just gave the strong ECU offense momentum to go down the field. I would say the refs at the Buffalo game got in their heads, but not today.

That drive was ridiculous, but that's not why they lost. Ohio needed to stop the run. Cooper ate them alive. Ohio played tough but ran out of gas at the end. I'm proud of the effort they put out there today.

The one when he got kicked in the head and flipped the guys leg? The same one Galloway agreed was a bad call? Seriously? What other roughing call was there?

Edit: there was a roughing call at the end when the OL lineman shoved the d lineman after Tettleton took a shot. Should have been a penalty but far from dirty.

...and the ECU player managed to get in one last cheap shot right in front of the OU bench with a few seconds remainging.

Huh? They had 9 penalties for 75 yards, were they all called in the last 14 seconds? Ohio only had 5 for 60 yards.

Nice game Ohio. Solid gameplan but just not enough. The trick plan and your running qb making a nice throw kept it close. For a while I thought that our kicker was going to cost is another game this year.
The officiating was bad the whole game. For most of the game Ohio got away with plenty of pass interference and holding, but for the most part the refs were equally bad. The interception that was called incomplete, and not overturned was almost identical to the reception that was overturned. Bad as they were at least it was consistent.

Ohio represented themselves decently yesterday. Hopefully the MAC can finish up 3-2 in bowls.

Well coached team but simply there is a talent gap.

Tettleton took that shot because of that same lineman, he pushed our guy into your QB, then pushed him again. Not dirty, but really really stupid moment, just like our guy sling the Ohio player down after going outbounds. Guys lose the heads at times, the forget where they on the field or that a ref is watching.

The "late hit" in Ohio's LB was a bit tic-tacy, but the ref spoke wrong it was actually called unsportsmanlike conduct. He tackled our WR Isiah Jones and then threw his legs out of the way, that got the refs attention, but not what drew the flag, it was the talking smack right after. Again, not dirty, but not smart. Just make the play, high five your team mates and get ready for the next play.

The PI on the same drive was legit, sorry he bumped the WR with the ball in the air knocking away from being able to make a play on the ball.

But, the refs did not cost Ohio the game, 5 flags on Ohio, 9 on ECU, 3 the on ECU killed potential scoring drives.

Ohio had a good game plan, fought hard as long as they could, they just couldn't the KO punch they kept going for, ECU finally countered in the 4th and got a standing 10 count.

For me, know the team (ECU) the way I do, it was conditioning that won it. We just wore down Ohio until we broke through and started forcing TO and converted them into TD's.

Kind of sums up Ohio's year. Poor opening start, then they settle down and get thing going pretty well then fall completely apart at the end. 7-6 season with a bowl trip. Not what we were hoping for with all the returning talent on offense. Ohio had a three year window to win the MAC and perhaps a BCS run, but that window appears to have shut. Ohio losing a lot to graduation and likely going to be rebuilding next year.

yeah, i personally would, at this point, consider next year to be a success if we can get to 6-6 or above. if things fall right and there's some way we could get to 8-4, I'd love to see us go to a sixth straight bowl game. that would be amazing! but I'm certainly not holding my breath on that.

RE: Beef O Bradys bowl thread.
one more reason why its maddening to root for the Bobcats, they went 2-1 against these non conference opponents in 2013-

12-1 Louisville, bowl winner (L)
10-4 Marshall, bowl winner (W)
9-4 North Texas, bowl winner (W)

makes no sense.
