At $550,000 a year, (and whatever they pay Mackin) they
could pay for it out of their own pockets. I know he has less players to deal with, but I guarantee you Coach Haase would not let something like this happen to his guys.

People, STFU and think for a bit before you post. When you admit that you don't know the reason you can either assume it has to be something unique & legitimate (like, I don't know, virtually the entire defensive and S&C staffs are being replaced and many possible targets aren't free to be hired due to bowls, FCS playoffs, etc.) or you can come on here and say it's more likely that the coaches, unlike any other coaches in all of football, don't give two shots about their players. Even though you fully admit you don't know the reason, you go ahead and put the latter out here for every recruit, opposing coach, and media monkey to read.

I really wish some of you would think before you post: who is my audience and how is this going to help UAB? If it's a true screw up, have at it, but there is no damn reason to say, "I don't know, but I'm going to say it's the reason that makes certain folks look the worst they possibly could."

So do the players really read this board? Honestly, what proof does anyone have that players or recruits actually read this board?

Not former players, but current players or players who read this board while they played at UAB.

Recruit do have internet access, they do research schools that recruiting them and this site does pop up in search results but what does logic have to do with it.

I know for a fact that recruits and current players do and have read this board both present and past. Without any shadow of doubt.

Current players read the board and that's nothing new.

People seem to forget that they get too caught up in trying to be a smart Alec or too cutesy or just simply being a jerk. All we are saying is think before you post. Not throwing stones because a lot of us and said things that we regret at one time or another. Times definitely are changing and social media keeps evolving. Now just about everybody has some sort of a smart phone and has instant access to virtually everything.

So? Wasn't it UAB?IAB that mentioned "wussification"? Now players can't dare read an internet post and make their own judgement? If reading BT is too much for them, probably ain't gonna handle gameday too well. Or 4 straight losing seasons either.

And parents. I know several that read this board. All we said was think before you post. No one said to wussify the board. Criticizing is warranted sometimes but some do get carried away. The worst cases the mods handle.

I know some family members who haven't handled it very well.

I know for a fact players and parents read the board too. Reality is what it is though. If anyone thinks the players and their parents are ok with this, I'll have to disagree.

Even Callaway had a banquet AFTER he was fired. Excuses can be made for not having one but fact is, the banquet is held not for the team awards but a closure to the season, a chance to fellowship as a team one last time, reflect and look forward.

Realism is sometimes in short order here. It was poor taste on whoever made the decision.
