Just asking. Want someone to WIN the job and play with no rotation. Too soon. I don't think so

We need a mentally-tough winner. If we get a bowl I'd prefer to see Woodside take more snaps than Owens...might as well see what kind of progress he's made since early in the season. Not convinced he's the guy, though. Not sold on anyone. A leader who can make decisions in game must emerge.

I don't suppose they can sit Owens, but I'm all for a little nostalgia--give TO two series, then Woodside two series and whoever makes some plays plays some more.

I hear Ely is head and shoulders above anybody we've had since Bruce.

I hear Ely is grossly overrated and may not even be a solid MAC level QB.

Two out of three of those won't be good enough to win a MAC championship. You guys need to come up with something better.

RE: Who is UT QB in 2014
Since our offensive record-breaking 2011 season used a 2QB rotation, I'm thinking a 4QB rotation in 14 will be twice as good.

Start the true freshman, but only on Saturday games. The redshirt-freshman will play every 3rd series and 2nd downs > 8 yards. The sophomore will be in for 1 random play each series, and the transfer from down south will play the 3rd quarter, unless it's a full moon. In the 4th quarter, they will draw straws and the loser plays.

Imagine the defensive planning the opponents will have to do.

I'll settle for whomever can make a few tough runs a game --mix of scrambles and called runs--and who doesn't lock in on One receiver on almost every pass play...

Macon can be the designated 4th down/wildcat QB out of the new Macon-Bacon formation.

Nope, we need a non- QB freshman for that formation so we can throw that jump pass to the safety.

Play Woodside if we make a bowl game to get ready for the future. I'm sure Campbell will give the senior the nod, but if he's concerned about his job, he should plan his future starting now.

RE: Who is UT QB in 2014
Depending on who the OC is next year (hopefully Campbell), it probably really doesn't matter who the starting QB is. The real questions to be answered are:

1. Will we figure out what we are doing on offense to call the plays that work and make sense

2. Will we be able to call them in time in our "no-huddle offense" to not get a penalty or have to call a timeout?

3. Will our receivers be able to catch a ball from any of the QBs when thrown in their hands?

4. Will we be mixing in enough of the running back jump pass to the safety plays to be successful (credit to H2Oville on that one) 03-lmfao

Made the trip over from Alliance today to watch the Rockets. I'm not sure why in the world you'd want Campbell on offense. The play calling was fine...would like more tempo at times, but the drops, overthrows, etc... is the problem, not the play calling. If I'm Campbell, I'm moving back over to the defensive side of the ball. That's where you need some help.

If your team isn't good, in fact is a bit self-destructive at something and the coach keeps calling it, wouldn't that be a problem with "play-calling?" If you don't have the skills to run a certain offense or defense, wouldn't you try to find a more suitable scheme even if it was dramatically different than what you sold to the recruits?

Reading through posts, even listening to different announcing teams through the season there seems to be some consistency in the criticism. Everyone was watching a team keep hitting itself in the head with the same brick again and again and again. That's on coaching, particularly play-calling. They are the ones that choose the schemes.
