Pastner has to play experience where he has it in a close game. King and Iverson will both be great Tigers and will get their minutes. Nichols starts because we don't have another experienced big with the skills he has.
Yes.
This was really King;s first game to be out of it. Fans over react more than players and coaches.
Just a game or two ago King was our best player and Nichols needed work.
Now Nichols is the best player in Memphis- on par with Marc Gasol- while King has issues.
There are 11 players that will play. Not all will always have good games. Try and remember that.

I guess the same. However, it doesn't take anything away from this win tonight. LSU is a good team. This will be a QUALITY win come Selection Sunday and LSU will be a top 3-4 team in the SEC with a pretty good chance of getting into the NCAA's. So while they may not be a top 25 team as of right now, they are surely top 40 and we just beat them on a neutral court with them shooting 67% at one point and finishing the game at 56.6%. I'll take it!

If you are one of the posters being called out for negativity and chose to come in here and get in this thinly veiled shot at the team as a way to say "yeah, but...", you should be ashamed.

Josh may not curse, but can you honesty tell me that you have never seen him rip them a new one. Come on...
He was ripping Joe a new one walking into the locker room at the half.
Some posters are just clueless trolls.
I'm a big fan of the stories that develop off the court/field. Joe and Josh (and Chris) are tied together as the ones who kept our program afloat. Freshman and Sophomore Joe might have been staring off into the seats and ignoring CJP, but as he was being ripped into walking off the court, he was listening and responding to Coach. Joe has a deep respect and appreciation for Pastner and it has shown these past two years.
When people talk about how these players don't respect Pastner, I'll point them to things like the above or the comments from players in post game. Go look at some of the quotes. Players saying things like "trust the process" over and over. They are repeating the things we hear from Pastner, his themes if you will, because they believe in him and his staff. Awesome to watch Joe, Chris and CJP develop together for 4 years and no matter what happens the rest of this year, it's going to be a tough farewell come Senior Night.
Well put.
Yes- will be a helluva tough senior year. They all are to a degree- but Joe and Chris and their identification with this program, and who knows where we end up this season- will make it something else.

Multiple times Austin has been in potential scoring position with a good entry pass and Joe at a good angle to make it. Instead of throwing it, Joe always stares it down for a good 3-5 seconds.
And considering Joe had 16 points and 7 assists and went 6/6 from the line and was the most reliable player in the game and he assisted on the game clinching free throw length 2 pointed by Nichols, he clearly does not have it.
Joe also played off the ball for most of the final 12 minutes with Crawford handling it. I actually liked the adjustment by Pastner.
The conventional wisdom is that Joe becomes a scorer when he is off the ball.
Actually, he still facilities and gets a lot of assists when he's at the 2.
Actually first good assist game this year. Had almost as many today as he has the rest of the season combined.

He had 7 against Austin Peay as well. 5 total against Oklahoma State, Nicholls State and Siena.

lol
JJ will average 5-6 apg this year. I suspect maybe even 6-7 with the post game we have now.
I bet he has his best assist year yet. Easy.
My prediction would be 14.5 ppg and 6.5 apg by the end of the year.

Under head coach Josh Pastner, Memphis is now 5-3 versus the SEC

"We" have none- based on AP.
Did that ruin the LSU game for you?
Sucks for you.
