Man, I really feel for UAB. It had to be a frustrating roller coaster ride. I pretty much figured they needed to get that late touchdown in regulation to win instead of the field goal to send it to overtime.

On a positive note, they have a real good chance next week of getting their fifth or sixth straight win over USM. Not many have accomplished that feat.

Really stupid? They are 8-3 and beat a motivated UAB. Just shut up and realize it's not always about UTsA.

Great game UAB. You played well and deserved the win.

Lol you just waiting your turn to get rolled by us.

I think Rice certainly found its future running back. Good game by both teams. UAB's defense played their hearts out. Very entertaining to watch.

Maybe. Two weeks in a row UAB allowed a ton of yards on the ground. They are not good against the run when they play anyone decent. That kid reminds me of the player that was at OSU a few seasons ago. Very small and able to literally hide behind blockers. He could be a good one.

UAB deserves more fans. They are really playing their hearts out. It's a shame the university system keeps throwing up roadblocks on things which could really help them grow interest in their program.

This! Thank you, "Purple One!" Best of fortune to your beloved Pirates the rest of the way.

Maybe we should just do like Tulane and announce 19,750.

UAB was much more competitive than I thought they'd be. Pretty much solidifies my prediction that they'll kick our ass next week.

While the crowd was disappointing, the game was very entertaining. Wish the best for the UAB defensive player, think his name was John Hicks and his injury. That was pure ugly.

Yeah, a leg is not supposed to look the way that leg looked. Showed serious toughness when he was taken off the field

It's Hix, and he's an offensive lineman, but the sentiment is appreciated.

Just like yall were going to roll Houston huh? You kids need to learn your place. And if Rice is bad at 8-3, what does that make UTSA at 5-5? Putrid?

That is an injury you hope to never see and turn your head when you do witness it. Best of luck to Mr. Hix and the medical folks working on/with him! Here's to coming back bigger, stronger and better for his senior year! 04-cheers

Great game UAB! You guys played very hard and made some brilliant adjustments. Here is to hoping Rice never plays another Thursday night game again. At the very least, no team should have to play a Thursday unless it is off a bye week.

Congratulations Rice. It was an ugly win, but it was a win. I hope you guys beat Tulane, and represent Texas and C-USA well in your bowl game. 04-cheers

Great game UAB. You guys really came at us hard and played an inspired game. I'm impressed. If it weren't for all the injuries, you guys would be in the bowl hunt. I'm going to start praying that you guys get your own on-campus stadium. You need it in the worst way. The program is being held back by the fact the you play at Legion Field.

I can't say enough about the effort. It was a great game for television and reflected well on the conference.
