They also didn't show the relative attendance.

NIU fills 93.58% of their seats

Lol really? NIU couldn't even sell out a 20k seat stadium against a supposedly good Ball State team? Fresno in a losing season still hovers around 30k a game average. Bulldog Stadium holds 41,031 and this Saturday should be another sell out crowd. Our worst years of football compared to your best and we still get more attendance then NIU

What does attendance have to do with being a good team? Nothing at all.

Try telling that to your fellow fan who brought it up. All it shows is what type of fan support each team has.

The attendance issue was brought up in that propaganda video, but if you want to compare here are the facts:

1) The Ball State game was on a Wednesday night with temp in the low 30's. Fresno's game will be on a Saturday with temps in the mid 60's.

2) Fresno population 505,882. DeKalb population 43,842.

It's apples and oranges.

RE: Fresno St Athletic Site
For starters, congrats on your win last night. Watched most of the game and was really impressed with JL (Not as good as Carr... but hey I'm a FS fan, would you expect anything less? 03-nerner )

1) This is not a gobulldogs.com video. themwc.com created it and it was just simply linked from there.

2) I thought that showing passing yards and not rushing yards was weird if you are going to compare teams. They could of easily used PPG or something else. We (FS) love to sling the rock with Carr, Adams, Burse and Harper and you guys love to pound the rock on the rock with JL and sting (sp?). Two completely different types of offenses. Every other stat we match up otherwise (example we rank6/7 in scoring offense and 4/5 in total offense).

3) However... I think attendance is huge for bowls. It shouldn't be, but that's the way the system is set up. If Fresno State made it to the BCS game (especially Fiesta), the allotment would be sold out very quickly.

I think both teams are very good teams. I hate the postseason we have set up. hopefully this thing gets to a 16 team playoff, creating the countries best regular season and postseason. I hope the rest of your season is a great (Not too great though 03-wink ).

You don't understand averages and relativity. The only way to actually look at the number correctly. As someone said, Fresno is 10x larger than DeKalb, so getting 10k more should be a cake walk.

Let's make a video and use NIU's BCS Bowl appearances and attendance vrs Fresno and UCF. That would be fair.

NIU had excellent fan support at the Orange Bowl last year. I was at the game and we had as many or more fans there as Florida State. The NIU side of the stadium was pretty much packed.

I don't think NIU will have any problem selling tickets to the Fiesta Bowl.

Comparing attendance makes as much sense as this:

2010 Humanitarian Bowl
NIU 40
Fresno 17

BAM!!!

I don't think NIU will have any problem selling tickets to the Fiesta Bowl.

There were thousands of NIU fans in Miami last year. They, unfortunately, mostly didn't buy their tickets through NIU due to cost (we don't need a repeat of last year's million page thread of pro vs con).

NIU traveled really well to Miami & the bowls don't care where fans buy tickets. That's a concern for NIU & the MAC. The tickets get paid for in advance. It's all part of the s#*tty way in which the system is set up.

Transitive property, gotta love it. If that's the case, NIU would be ranked higher than Mizzou. You're not very bright. Or, I could be you.

NIU 11-0
Fresno 9-0

Enough said.

You realize Rutgers lost many starters to injuries right? Much different team compared to the Rutgers within the first 4 weeks or so of CFB.

By the way, you guys love bringing up the 2010 Humanitarian bowl as if those were the same teams that are playing this year. Hypocrisy much in this board?

You realize Rutgers hasn't been good all year. There is no problem with have a bad win. NIU has a few, Fresno has a few.

It's the fact that that's Fresno's marquee win. A team that might not go bowling and at best finished .500.

I'm not saying anything about the Humanitarian bowl, I'm just saying your NIU-Idaho comparison isn't extremely valid. Every game is so different. Plain and simple.

You're mainly trying to stir up argument, but you haven't brought up a good argument. A 10 point win is still a 10 point win. It wasn't 40, but it's still double digits. I highly doubt you say hey EIU beat SDSU by 21 so they are better than Fresno. It's a half-ass argument.

That is just stupid.

Eastern Illinois 40
San Diego State 19

Fresno State 35
San Diego State 28

So I guess Eastern Illinois should take your BCS spot, then. 03-banghead

Personally, I hope both schools run negative attack ads about each other.

"Northern Illinois says they're worthy of a BCS bowl....but they can't even sell out a game properly."

"Fresno State says NIU is unworthy of a BCS bowl...but have you looked at their schedule?"

It might come down to who can afford the better celebrity endorsements.

Boise, is starting to look like our marquee win. Especially if we are able to beat them again in our CCG. Their name alone carries credibility and respect amongst the voters. Beating them twice in one year would be great and in my opinion punch us in.

Look, I have been lurking on this board for a while and it is just ridiculous with the amount of **** talking on Fresno St's schedule, wins etc, as if you guys are in such a higher tier than us. Our schedules, are more similar than what a lot of you think. Granted, this is a homer board so it is expected, and the same can be said for Fresno's board, but cmon. I myself, rooted hard for you guys to pull the W last year, and will do again if some reason you guys jump us in the final BCS standings.
