Could you have Diesel piss on Herbstreit himself or his likeness and take a video/picture?

That would be cool. Have Diesel walk on the ESPN set, head over to Herbie and pee on his leg then walk off.

Enjoyed traveling to MACC 2011 with Diesel, Cheerdad, REDBLACK, HuskieBob and Golf4501. It was like riding in a limo with a celebrity.

Thank you Cheerdad and Diesel for every game you attended and for all of the fans you made smile. You guys are the greatest and we will miss you!! You are the face of Huskie Nation.

Just to add my two cents. Cheerdad - thank you and your family for all the time you put in over the years to have Diesel at all the games. Knowing you, I know you'd say it was a labor of love, but nevertheless, it was a tremendous amount of time and effort on your part. And we're so appreciative. You were always incredibly gracious with sharing Diesel with Huskie fans. My family has so many terrific pictures with Diesel that we cherish. We had the pleasure to see you many times on the road. To this day, my boys still talk about holding onto Diesel's leash in the lobby of the hotel down in Shreveport for the Independence Bowl while the "grown ups" ate breakfast. Diesel is one of a kind and we'll miss him.

Now, let's send the big guy out in style!!!

04-jawdrop <-- that literally just happened.

Tom,

Thanks for all your hard work in getting Diesel to the games and all the events in between. Diesel will always be a staple in my mind for Huskies. I've forgetten the first time I met you guys but I'll never forget when my 9mth old first born met you guys in 2009 at the Family Day event. Hope to see you 2 and say hi in the near future.

Wait, honest question.

Is Diesel NOT going to the MACC game? That's not a home game. And that's a big game against a good team (winner of Buffalo/BGSU).

And no bowl game visitation, IF they go to a big bowl somehow (by unconventional arrangement), OR even a BCS game?

I think you'll probably see protests to bring out Diesel if that's the case.

And only fitting would be Diesel showing up unexpectedly, 2nd half, in a BCS Bowl game to spark NIU's 2nd half rally. :)

He is finishing out the season. So we need to go undefeated so he can leave on top.

I remember that well! Later on we randomly ran into your family and you, at some rest stop in Missouri. Somewhere I have a picture taken of all of us with Diesel from that.

All hail Diesel! 02-13-banana

Yep. That was pretty funny. The boys didn't want to get back in the car. They wanted to keep playing with Diesel.

My bad. I missed the exception he threw out there after saying he's retiring after the WMU game.

Well, ya never know... Diesel may break into 2014 and be somewhere in the first days of January. :)

And I know this sounds out of line, but wouldn't it be cool if NIU played Fresno in a bowl this year by some weird arrangement or whatnot... and instead of doing the high-five after a game winning TD by NIU, it starts mounting Fresno's Bulldog for it's final "horrah". Now THAT would be a way to go out in style -- and to stick it to all the overly-arrogant Fresno Fans out there.

On behalf of Huskie fans, thank you so much for all of the extra crap that you have put up with (in this case sometimes literally) getting Diesel to the games no matter where they were. There's a ton of hassle that goes into just getting Diesel to and from, and Cheerdad did it all on his own. Diesel is a family dog. The university helped out getting him into certain hotels and stuff, but all of the logistics were up to Cheerdad.

04-cheers

+1 million. And I agree...Diesel TOTALLY needs to be honored on Senior night! I only wish I could be there to give him & the players a standing O

Thanks Diesel and CheerDad. Awesome job! 04-bow

Yes Diesel will be at the MACC. He has been to all 4 previous ones. Also, depending on the location of our Bowl Game he will be there. Some locations are just too far to drive and he drives to all the games. But we will cross that bridge when we know where we are going.

First met Diesel at Homecoming 2005, shortly before he became mascot. I've met him a couple or three times since. Great dog and mascot, and the owner is just as good.

Some pics of Diesel during the years

Here he is running after one of many TDs @ EMU

Running after a score against Tennessee

Running after a score @ Huskie Stadium

And one of the earliest pictures I have of him in the backyard

And what he likes to do best after it snows
[Image: DSC00630.jpg]

He is always so happy. Especially once it gets cold outside.
Thanks to everyone for these great years we have had. Also, a BIG Thank You to the members of the Diesel RoadCrew, and to HuskieBob for all of these great game day pics.
