RE: Future Basketball Blazers
Tough match ups for at least two future Blazers tonight:

Jarvis Calhoun and Hewitt face off against 7-0 Woodlawn at 6:30 in the Semis of HT's Thanksgiving tournament (not gonna dignify the sponsor with a mention).

Ha Ha Lee and Dallas County meet defending state champs Mountain Brook at 8:00 in their first game at the Capstone Classic, held at Shelton State in Tuscaloosa.

Lewis Sullivan and Hazel Green host Lincoln County (TN) tonight. Don't know much about Lincoln. They were 18-12 last year in Tennessee but lost 78-41 at home to HG so maybe a cupcake for the Trojans.

William Lee just posterized a player on an alley-oop. Surprisingly the first time tonight @Haha34lee1

They lost to Mountain Brook.

Mountain Brook is a 6A school right? I'm glad to see Lee is still putting up those kind of stats against bigger schools as well.

They are a pretty good 6A school I think, or at least have been in the last few years.

And during this period, I believe they aren't even doing it by bringing in ringers.

RE: Future Basketball Blazers
I went to Shelton last night for the Dallas County-Mt Brook game. Ha Ha played well but it was a very tough match up for him. MB plays a version of the Fastest Forty and they pressure full court for the entire game. DC's guards had a difficult time handling the pressure, so much that Lee had to bring the ball up some. I was very impressed with his handle for a guy that size. He's got soft hands and sees the floor very well. Needs to put on some pounds to face the big bodies he'll see at D1.

I'm not sure there is an analogous player to Ha Ha that I've seen play for UAB. The closest guy talent-wise IMO is Carlos Williams. Ha Ha has that kind of quick explosion off the floor but the extra 3 inches and wingspan make him a terror defensively.

If I had to compare him to an in-state player I would have to say Robert Horry. He's got that kind of length and defensive mentality but also the good hands and soft touch to develop into a big-time scorer.

*If you get nostalgic for the Fastest Forty style, check Mountain Brook out. They pressure relentlessly and play defense as ferociously as I've seen a high school program play. They had three times the guys on the bench as DC yet almost every one of them got to play. Great for team morale and they run the other team ragged. They aren't defending 6A champs for nothing and now I better understand why.

Love this tweet from the director of the Capstone Classic:

Barry Sanderson ‏@Barrysanderson 24m

I don't care what scouting services say @Haha34lee1 is the number 1 ranked Sr playing in Alabama. Come see him at 5:30 @ Shelton today!
