I've seen posters on more than one board say the Wave want nothing to do with the New Orleans Bowl, that they'd rather travel, and are lobbying hard to go somewhere else. I find that hard to believe even though I suspect they'd prefer a more prestigious opponent than the Cajuns.
Sounds like Hawaii or bust for Tulane then.

I actually think Hawaii would be a good deal for Tulaneā¦A great reward for the coaches and players. I know that the ECU's coaches and players absolutely loved the trip outside of the long ass flights.

Might actually work out better for the Cajuns as well. Tulane has been struggling and it sounds like Hud and team want to face someone who would be really tough to beat. Rice would be a worthy opponent.

If UL-Lafayette were to play Rice, the may bite off more than they can chew. Rice just might embarrass them. RealTime RPI has the Cajuns at 56 and Rice at 57; neck and neck.

Anything's possible of course. UNT beat Rice, Tulane beat UNT, so to me that's an indication that on any given day, anyone can play some good ball. And as I said, from what I've read, the Cajuns are looking for a quality opponent. While I'd still like to see the Cajuns and Tulane have a go at it, Rice would be a suitable alternative for me.

Tulane fans don't want a ULL matchup but we do want a bowl. If it isn't the Hawaii, we'd accept NOLA

Makes sense JD. I understand the sentiment. I hope the Cajuns can continue to improve to the point that some day Tulane will look forward to meeting them in a bowl.

Given the choice, Tulane would select Hawaii over a New Orleans Bowl match-up with ULL?
That would be a great gift to the rest of us to keep everyone else close to home where the fans can watch their team play in person. I was always happy when June Jones volunteered SMU for this faraway game.
