If it doesn't work out with UAB...Memphis v MTSU in Nashville would be cool...invite in some local Nashville recruits...see what they think...make some money in the process.

Because this is a way to coerce Memphis into playing games against teams in C-USA, which, because of Memphis' reputation and history in basketball, means (1) a higher RPI rating for the game on the C-USA team's home court and (2) the TV revenue probably is greater than the NCAA payout for some of those games.

In essence, it's an attempt to convince Memphis to schedule OOC games against former CUSA foes to increase those teams' visibility and strength of schedule.

Fair enough. I wonder if this is why Mackin was so confident on TV a month or two back that the Memphis series would resume.

I actually don't think Memphis will take the deal. They will probably make more scheduling TV games against bigger opponents
