I think his best shot is to go to a team that has a roster that is in a position to play for the title now. It's unlikely for him to play for a rebuilding team, but he has the ability to be productive as a role player similiar to his time at Memphis. Even when he was a starter for the tigers he rarely played many minutes compared to the avg starter for any given team.

Only players that averaged more playing time last season were Chris, Adonis and Joe. I couldn't find Geron's minutes.

Fair enough. Maybe it seemed like he played less because so many players shared minutes. I'm not trying to argue with you just pointing out that he was productive even though his minutes were limited. And his minutes were absolutely limited due to his health last season. His per minute averages were prob better than anyone's on the team which is good for him if he wants to find a spot on roster.

Hate to say it, but drafting decent Tiger players to "boost attendance" would be a death blow for the Grizzlies. This franchise is way beyond cheap tricks like that to boost attendance. The on court product speaks for itself.

And as for those folks, if that's all they're holding out for....really sucks for them. They're missing out on some of the best basketball in the world.

Fan support for Antonio and d.j. is like apples and oranges. I don't expect a rebel black bear land shark to know this though. I watch the occasional Grizz game on tv (off and on...as in the beginning and the end) because I've never really cared about professional basketball. If d.j. was on the team, I would buy season tickets. I bet I'm not the only one. I'm betting also that even if they sold 100 more season tickets they would be happy.

Living in Dallas I have attended only two Mavs games. There is nothing like College sports for its excitement and competition. GTG

playoff NBA is fun to watch, November NBA, not so much to me.

Do we really need to compare Tiger players, lifting one and lowering the other? Get a hobby...

My post was aimed at those that belittled DJ and the others that did the same to Antonio. No they weren't a Rose while playing here but they gave us 4 years and all they had.

I like DJ and all but I liked Antonio the basketball player alot more than DJ the basketball player. I think you over estimate how many people are going to drop that large a sum of money to go watch DJ ride the pine.

You enjoyed watching Antonio more than watching d.j. ?? wow ! As far as him riding the pine, you don't know that. I believe if they took a chance on him he would play some.

Burks was flat out awesome his senior year. Yes I would prefer to watch burks over dj. IF dj made the grizzlies he would be on the bench period. If you think differently take a look at where he's playing now. It's not on an nba team. He will be fine but not a nba player. Geesh and neither was burks. You have to be really good to be in the nba. Constantly working including in the weight room which dj needs a lot of

I think we become like the proud parents at Upward games who have a too-high-opinion (born out of love, by the way) of how good our kid is.
We can't possibly be as objective about the talents of our Tigers as NBA scouts are. It's their job.

DJ 'a uniqueness should get NBA attention as time progresses. It's tough to compare his abilities to anyone I can recall. He looks like he's gained some quality weight too, which could really help him. It obviously hasn't hurt his game.

I'm hip. I continue to hold out hope for Joey and Carney. I saw "A. Burks" in an NBA boxscore and got all excited, hoping Antonio made it back somehow!

If a NBA team thinks he is good enough, he will get a chance.
