Is your team where you thought they would be at this point of the season?
Some of us had high expectations and some had doubts of how thier team would perform this year. Do you think your team is meeting your expectations? If you can, find posts that were made before the season started about your team and see if they are close to becoming a reality or way off base. It can be a post that you made or somebody else made about your team.

RE: Is your team where you thought they would be at this point of the season?
Marshall has done exactly what I figured would happen this season. They are a good team, but I didn't see them winning out in the conference. I knew the Ohio game would be close, but you can't win when you have a turnover ever other play . I figured they would win at home because of their .850 home winning percentage at The Joan. The FAU game was closer than I expected, but I knew the MTSU game would come down to the wire. So, to sum it up, the season has turned out as predicted. I still think we can win out the rest of the season, but it's not going to be easy. Not one remaining game is a sure win. If we are gonna win the conference, we'll defiantly have to earn it.

RE: Is your team where you thought they would be at this point of the season?
I found an old thread where we were to predict our confidence in games we would win. I was waaayyyy off:
La Tech:
Lamar: 99% (struggled to win)
Tulane: 85% (lost a close game)
North Texas: 80% (lost a close game)
UTSA: 80%
FIU: 65% (won easily)
Army : 65% (got blown out)
UTEP: 55% (won a close game)
Kansas: 50% (lost a heartbreaker)
USM: 50%
Rice: 40%
NC State: 35% (got blown out)
Tulsa: 25%

Sort of...
I didn't expect to lose @ Tulane. Other than that, I did expect us to control our own destiny in the race for the East Division, which we do.

...will admit to 'no' with a disclaimer....inj have killed us on defense.....
3 wins was my expectation to date...the high end being 7 and 5 going low on the season....neither of which are going to happen
right now, my interest is focused on how our freshman qb develops both in skill and leadership....and i'm at least liking 'that'

RE: Is your team where you thought they would be at this point of the season?
I had particularly high expectations for the UAB Blazers. I expected them to be contending for Conference USA this season. The way they blundered the opening season game against Troy was a bad omen. In spite of the consistent setbacks, up until their recent outing with Middle Tennessee, they were in control of their own destiny in terms of winning the division. They've bungled that one, too, when they lost to MT, yet another game in which they should and could have emerged victorious, but, found a creative way to lose.
Won't elaborate on how I expect the rest of this year will go, to answer your very interesting question...No, my team's not where I thought they would at this point of the season. I expected more...I expected greater. I'm extremely disappointed...

Wasn't USM picked pretty high by the pundits, after going winless last season ? I think I remember being surprised by their preseason placement.
MT is exactly where we thought we'd be, but have arrived there much differently than predicted. Very little "basketball on grass".

Yes although not with the wins and losses I expected. I thought we'd be 6-2 but I thought we'd beat VT and lose to UNC and beat Tulane and lose to MTSU.

No. But we will have a winning record, and no home defeats.

From the mouth of coaches:
"(Your teams) are what we thought they were. They're what we thought they were. We played them in preseason — who the hell takes a third game of the preseason like it's bull****? B*ll ****! We played them in the third game — everybody played three quarters — (our teams) are who we THOUGHT they were! That's why we took the damn field. Now if you want to crown them, then crown their ass! But they are who we THOUGHT they were! And we let 'em off the hook!"

RE: Is your team where you thought they would be at this point of the season?
Before the season started, I had Marshall pegged at 8-4, and said that if we don't reach that level with the talent we have, that we should seriously consider Doc's tenure with the Program. I predicted 4 losses out of the following 5 teams: Ohio, Virginia Tech, Middle Tennessee, Tulsa and ECU. Well the first 3 of those have been losses...close ones, to be sure, but losses none the less. We have to step it up the final 4 games of the season.
As things have turned out, that prediction still holds. I do think we will have a tough time in Tulsa (and definitely not looking past UAB) and think we will best FIU, although we are not a good road team. The Herd still has a chance for the Eastern title, but they must win against ECU on Black Friday, no matter what happens at Tulsa. If we were playing in Greenville, I'd say we would lose, but in Huntington, I think we have a chance.
I've been pleasantly surprised by Tulane, North Texas, and UTSA, and I expected MTSU, Rice and ECU to be a tough wins for anyone. FAU has been a nice surprise as well. And none of us saw Tulsa's bad results so far, and I think all of us expected USM's streak to be over by now and UAB and UTEP to be a bit more competitive along with LaTech. FIU is about where I expected them, unfortunately.

Same here, and I didn't expect to beat UNC either.

i only thought 5-7 for north texas. i did not see the defense grow like it has or our qb to play as he has...it has been a nice surprise.
i thought wins against idaho, ball state, mtsu, utep, and utsa...didn't think the team could win away from apogee...
pleasantly happy with how the year has progressed...actually SHOCKED!!! i never would have expected to be bowl eligible or have a chance to win the league this year...freaking awesome enjoying victories now instead of close losses...

Honestly thought we'd be 7-1 with only a loss to Va Tech and either in or just outside the Top 25. I expected the offense to light it up and figured Rick Smith would get the defense going. We ought to be 8-0 right now as we had plenty of opportunities against Va Tech / Tulane, so 6-2 is somewhat of a let down. Had us going 10-2 regular season and making it to the CUSA championship, so those expectations are still possible.

Yes because I knew we were front loaded on the schedule difficutly wise.
What I did not expect was that we would have been so close in the CUSA games and that we had real shots to win them and just choked.

Sort of. I predicted Ohio would be a win and that MTSU might be a PUSH game. So I'm about 1 game off. 2 if you don't give me the PUSH on MTSU. Battling for the east division is exactly where I figured.
ECU is where I expected them.
Rice is exactly where I expected them.
