I don't get what Vegas is doing with Tulane. It's like they refuse to acknowledge that the Green Wave is a good team.

7 point dogs to La Tech, won by 9
12.5 point dogs to ULM, won by 17
3 point dogs to UNT, won by 3
13.5 point dogs to ECU, won by 3
3 point dogs to Tulsa, won by 7
3 point dogs to FAU, ....

Tulane is 6-2 ATS this year, 5-1 ATS as a dog and 5-1 straight up as a dog. Vegas has correctly picked the winner of a football game that involves Tulane 2 out of 8 tries this year.

Tulane is definitely being underrated...wish I had seen this pattern.

It's hard to understand.
I understood UNT being a 3 point favorite. I thought the ECU line was a little high, but 8 or so made sense to me.
I didn't understand Tulsa's favoritism. Tulsa hadn't done much of anything all year.
And I certainly don't understand FAU's. And I realize that FAU's pretty good and suffered some ridiculously close losses against what will be C-USA bowl teams.
But every week, not only do we open as dogs, the lines get up so the pointspread rises some.

I guarantee you that we will not win by 50. Doc will not do that. Did you watch UTSA? Outside of Little Miami and G-W Doc and Legg have made a concerted effort to have a slower paced offense to keep the defense off the field so we don't tire them like last season. It wasn't until we got down at MTSU that we picked the pace up.

When we got to 24 points against UTSA and at the start of the second half Doc and Legg took the air out of the ball. You could see the players (Cato and Shuler the most demonstrative) were getting frustrated with the toned down play calling.

The only way we beat you by 50 is if you guys are so bad it just happens and I do not think you guys are that bad. I watched your game with North Texas and your guys were still playing hard in that game.

2012 - Philosophy was to score as much as possible.
2013 - Philosophy is to shut it down at 21-24.

I agree 110% that Tulane has been unfairly underrated. The Wave deserve respect for having the second best record in the conference. At the same time, FAU is 15-5 ATS the past two seasons, two of which were wins, and the latest was our flop last week against Auburn.
I will tell you that us students are very worried about this game. We respect Tulane for the good team that they are. Yet at the same, we continue to ask the question, "Why not us?" We're tired of being the team that teams get lucky against. For once we want to be the team that either finishes a game, or gets outplayed yet still pulls out the victory. Hopefully the Homecoming crowd and warm temps will give us an edge to finally get a close victory!

Any Tulane fans making the trip to Boca? I know there's a decent South Florida alumni population. I'd love to see some of y'all before you leave for the AAC!

I can buy your FAU winning score.

I think you need to reword that TAMU score unless you mean UTEP wins 53-20.

The Gold Coast is prime territory for Tulane alums, as it is for lots of other schools. Have to wait and see how many of us actually show up, but the Tulane Club of Palm Beach is organizing a Tailgating Party that looks like it will be a big deal (live music, full menu, lots of drinking options, etc).

Sounds like fun! With the large alumni base and successful season, I'm sure there will be a solid amount of visiting Wave fans.

The "official" tailgate party is kind of pricey, see for yourself:

I bet you that Vegas has made a killing on people betting against the Green Wave. Vegas sets up their lines to get a 50/50 balance on each game - provided the game isn't fixed.

Vegas isn't making FAU a favorite to insult the Green Wave. Vegas just wants money. It's nothing personal, it's just business.

I think that this game is more even then you think. You might want to take a look at the scores in some of the FAU games, before assuming that Vegas doesn't have the right odds. FAU beat USF, but lost by 4 points to Rice (18-14); 1 point to Marshall (24-23); and 7 points in overtime to MTSU (42-35). FAU probably should have won each of those 3 games that they lost, but they are a young team that makes a lot of mistakes down the stretch of ball games.

FAU by a field goal sounds about right, because I think that this game for the most part is pretty even. FAU's edge probably comes because the game is being played at FAU. FAU has a big fast defense, so the Tulane offense will have to play it's A game.

I don't do picks but I'll say who I'm rooting for this week.

UNT over Rice
FAU over Tulane
USM over Marshall
ECU over FIU

Beyond that, I really don't give a damn.
