I didn't want to (nor did I) pick against Marshall last week (although I did suspect this was a loss in summer posts on playing MTSU.) They are a hard hitting football team and I've learned that no one is safe when they go to Murfreesboro. Hopefully, this week, I'll do a little better with my picks:
RICE @ UNT: A toss up, really. I"m sticking with Rice as the favorite to win the West Title, but won't be surprised with a MG win.
USM @ Marshall: Can and should win this one at home.
MTSU @ UAB: Not picking against Blue Raiders after last week.
UTSA @ Tulsa: Roadrunners will play tough, but Tulsa should win at home.
Tulane @ FAU: Watch out game for Tulane. FAU can be very tough at home.
ECU @ FIU: Easy pick. Pirates should walk.
UTEP @ TAMU: Another easy pick. Will be rooting for you Miners, but...

How in the hell is our line only 24. I've never been a better, but I may start this week. I told my buddy, who had lost a few bets Saturday, that taking UNT to cover was the easiest bet of the week. I said they would cover it by half time. I was right.

Rice @North Texas ... I've gone back and forth on this. I think UNT's home-field edge will -- just barely -- be enough. But it's a close, tough game between two evenly-matched teams.
Southern Miss @Marshall ... So this will be #20 in a row. I can't quite believe it's happening. It just seems unreal.
Middle Tennessee @UAB ... Another one I've gone back-and-forth on. A hunch that the Blazers are "up" for this one, and that the Raiders will have a letdown after the epic win vs. Marshall.
UTSA @Tulsa ...Another game where home-field is decisive.
Tulane @ FAU ... I admit it's tough to be objective here. But I think Tulane has the better D and the better kicking game to offset it's weak (barely alive) offense. Green Wave looking for first victory in State of Florida since beating Lou Saban's Miami Hurricanes at the Orange Bowl in 1978.
