Lincolnshire West Apartments donates in excess of $10,000 annually to the HASF. They are wonderful partners and have been for a long time. Let's treat them with some respect.
How would selling AD space hurt them?
It's not like the apartments are going to lose revenue because of 2 billboards.
Mentions have been made of hiding the apartments, tearing them down, etc. If Athletics finds the view of the apartments so offensive, let them work with Lincolnshire to come up with an amicable solution, if possible and if they even want to.
I don't find the view of the apartments offensive at all, just as many of you don't find the apartment buildings outside Wrigley Field to be offensive.

I don't find them offensive. I was just giving a lower cost alternative to the people who don't like them.
The view of the apartments either needs to be embraced like WF or covered up. I think the former would work better...unless we got an invite to the b12 as we would need to build the endzone up big time.

The owner and apartments may be wonderful but the current south end zone setup makes Huskie Stadium look small time. They showed clips on ESPN College Football Final a couple weeks ago of Lynch running at ground level with the apartments in the background, and it probably looked to a national audience like NIU is D-2. It should be enclosed some way.

i saw a rendering of a west side reno and you just gut the gyms and open the space up. I mean its not a 2 week job
Increase load baring support to the floor structure that has to be carried down to the foundation that was not planned for that configuration? I think your 2 weeks needs to be thought out. It takes two weeks to reno a kitchen without altering structure.
You couldn't lipstick the pig of a stadium we have using the same structure layout in two weeks. Where are the gym facilities getting relocated too?
You'd have to break out the floors to do anything else, bathroom, kitchens etc. Would you really be happy with fresh paint and a new urinal?
If they have to dig out and widen the footings to take extra load if you talking 2nd floor concourse or bathrooms, you're looking at 6 months to a year. The CPC which is basically a pole barn took almost a year.
Reno is not the way to go.
I took it as "It's not a two week Job" like "It's not Brain Surgery"

Exactly. I cringe every time I see highlights that include the apartment view. Right or wrong, it has a big impact on perception of the program.

Well when they close in Wrigley Field, NIU should just buy all the rooftop grandstands and put them on top of the apartment, then all the people who want to keep getting a "classic" rooftop view experience can come to NIU Football!

This is an easy fix.
Don't allow Camera's to set up in the North End Zone (Yordon). Have 'em only atop our New Scoreboard.
We now return you to the original thread topic of BSU Ticket Sales. Thank you.

How are ticket sales compared to the EMU game?

I'm not sure about that. When the offense is marching north camera guys want to capture from the north because that's where the offense is facing and moving. Ground level shots aren't as good when you're just getting peoples' backsides.

I never really thought of it until people on here pointed it out.
Changing the camera angle from the North endzone is a much easier fix.
I wonder if we can get a perminent platform closer to the corner of the West stands...maybe a second one near the lower corner of the East stands.

I may be wrong on this, but I don't think we can dictate to ESPN where they should put their cameras and what shots to avoid.

We can ask nicely though...and supply a safer/better area rather than some ugly scaffolding infront of our beautiful endzone facility.

I know we still have just under 2 weeks and most fans wait until the week to buy tickets, but ticket sales for BSU are at a snail's pace to say the least.

Rather than Manhattan, how about THE Paperback Grotto?! We may even get some sponsorship dollars from it.
