Because it gets them laid! At that age that is a whole lot more important. Girl's like the long hair. The guys think they look cool with it. I personally think it is getting old. Hard to believe it all started with Ricky Williams at the University of Texas and has stuck all these years. Even Beatles haircuts or Afros didn't last this long.

Yeah, but being a whiny bit(h definitely doesn't help with getting laid. So at this point the kid is breaking even at best.

RE: Rare RTD article
The one thing that really concerns me about the long hair out of the helmet is that I am sure at some point in the future someone is going to be grabbed by their flowing locks and have his neck jerked so hard to cause a very bad injury to the neck vertebrae. I am hoping the NCAA and the NFL does something about this before someone is severely injured or paralyzed by a hair tackle. I can see it happening. I am kinda surprised it has not happened yet and I hope it never does.

That being said I don't think the Richmond back has any right to complain about being hair tackled. As far as I know at this point in time the hair is considered part of the uniform. As long as the defender is not going for the neck area/horse collar type tackle it is fair game. Particularly if his coach told him to do something about it.

Wonder if he gets a bit stronger "advice" this week after the defeat at Bridgeforth??

Rocco recognized his team’s “lack of poise, lack of discipline.”

Part of the problem, Rocco believed, was the public exchange of unpleasant words during the previous week between JMU linebacker Stephon Robertson, and UR receiver Stephen Barnette. Robertson on a Richmond radio program said the rivalry included “such bad blood,” and called UR fans “obnoxious.” Barnett countered that he didn’t like Dukes’ fans “or anything about JMU, their gold or purple.”

“I think it takes away from the rivalry. I think it takes away from the game,” said Rocco. “I really don’t get that whole trash-talking mentality, or mindset. I’m a little old school. … I may just be in the wrong era.”

I think that most of us would love to hear Mickey voice some of the things Rocco states. Rocco is probably one of those people/coaches you either like him or hate him. I, for one, look at him as successful and know that his teams will always give us a fit. We may have the edge in victories, but most of those didn't come without a pretty good fight.

Questionable. Did you hear his pregame ish? This guy is not a on a higher plane than other coaches. Hell, he can't even beat MM. Let's see how he does at Richmond. This season is turning out vastly different than last.
