Quote:A 1997 law (Balanced Budget Act, section 4507) forbids private contracts between patients and doctors. With few exceptions, Medicare recipients cannot pay cash for a Medicare-covered service that Medicare denies until the doctor has opted out of Medicare. Most physicians cannot afford to opt out, so the law essentially prohibits private contracting between elderly patients and their doctors. Obamacare cut $500 billion from Medicare and enacted two administrative panels that are expected to advance rationing: the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) and the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
This. Bump. Death Panels. Kind of.
Positive Rep me and I'll vote for Obama in 2016 now Free

Except when an insurance company won't pay, you have options. You still have health care.
When the government controls your health care and says "no," you have no options.
Just curious, when your insurer says no what option do you have?
You still have the option to find another way to pay for it.
The point is that insurance is not health care. When government controls health care, you get what they say you get and you have no other options.
I'll give you that but I think being realistic, when you got left with a $25,000 bill your options were effectively zero.

Maybe you guys should, too?
You are living on Mars of you think people won't denied care based on cost.

Yeah. Bankruptcy is always a viable option!

Compared to the government telling you that it won't give you care at all because you aren't worth it or the line is too long?
I'd take bankruptcy every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

RE: My conversation with a Liberal about Obamacare
It'd be your insurance company doing that under the ACA, not the government. Next time you write your check for insurance, notice who you're making it out to. It's certainly not the government.

Please stay with the discussion. Apparently it is moving too fast.
