I wouldn't bet on that averaging out in your favour. Given Troy's calibre of student I think even with the trailer trash factored in we come in on top.

It is really sad that they cannot get any real support and be allowed to have a bit of independence, but the big boys in Tuscaloosa apparently don't think that it is good for UAB to have any success.
They asked the BOT for money for a new stadium so they could get fans. The answer was, get fans and then you get a stadium.
UAB is a little sister institution; why would we be concerned with their growth? It's a satellite campus in our system.
I dont think that UA should be concerned with their growth, It just seems a little odd that they would not approve a stadium that better fits the needs of UAB.
I think it was more of an idea of "Why build a stadium that no one will go to?" I think to me it show more along the lines that UA would rather shut that program down then invest money into a hole of a program(financially). As far as I know, no one has donated money for UAb to build a stadium, where is the concerned alumni???
One would think that they could get a few big donations to get something rolling. I guess that shows what shape the program is in.
They've never really taken off.

Trolling much....

Funny coming from a team in Louisiana that's in a pretty similar predicament. ULL is a few losing seasons away from being in the exact same predicament attendance wise.
Even at our worse we were no where near Tulane's last decade of football attendance.

There is even a high school that had a TV show on MTV and historically black schools that have brought over 66,000 to UAB's stadium.
I would actually love to see the University of Alabama Huntsville get an FCS team and stadium in place of UAB.
Why does it matter to you? Is UAB taking money from Troy (crybaby) freaking st?
One more question even with it being OT...why do you think SBC fans would care? So say what you want but the fact that you posted this here....
you're trolling UAB
I'm sorry I forgot that conversations were not allowed on a message board.
1. I live in Birmingham and I pay taxes so I think I'm qualified to comment about UAB.
2. Troy is not even in the University of Alabama school system and UAB not having football has nothing to do with Troy's funding.
3. If I was scared about competition why in the world would I want Alabama Huntsville to get a football team.
4. Your an idiot goodbye.

point is why would anyone on the SBC board care? UAB isn't in this conference and most ..maybe 99.9% of us could care less about taxes being paid because of someone living in Birmingham.
To me it looks like a troll or you would have found a board more suited to the problem of Birmingham and taxes and UAB.
But what do I know

RE: OT: UAB Football
i may be wrong so anyone other than the SEC troll correct me, but the UA system is a lateral system. UA-T carries the political clout due to their age and their possession of the state law school. Since lawyers are the basis of political figures, it stands to reason that UAT retains an iron fist by controlling the majority of the State's political organizations as well as only appointing UAT bourbons to the UA BOT. This is the way it was explained to me by a sociologist living in AL studying the political system.

Being from the state of Alabama my thoughts are that the UA BOT is fair to UAB when it comes to funding for educational needs. But when it comes to sports what UA-T wants they get. UAB can do what every they want when it comes to sports as long as they raise the money to do it and there is no possiablity at all that the UA system will get stuck with the bill.

This goes to the things I said before. The BOT is made up of UAT aligned people. If UAB had some voice on there, they would get some help...
