That post made me want Cracker Barrel.

UAB has a decent chance in this game. The Vanderbilt team you saw earlier this year is not the same one that will be in the field this weekend. UAB will be playing the Vanderbilt that struggled with UMass Saturday until UMass's lack of depth got to them in the 4th quarter.

Vandy lost a starting receiver last week before the UMass game. He was kicked off of the team for admitting to attempting to cover up the crime that was committed by freshman teammates that were dismissed several weeks ago (rape). In addition, he implicated the quarterback and others in the cover up as well - but then backtracked. (The cover up being picking up the victim and putting into her room/bed as if nothing happened. I think there were some text messages or emails from him indicating an intent to cover up a crime in doing so.)

If their psyches aren't reeling from all of that then they are inhuman robots.

Who knows? But I wouldn't bet against them circling the wagons, and assuming an "it's us against the world" posture.

Jocks can be pretty dumb that way.

The WR you are talking about (Chris Boyd) has not played a down this year. Their other WR (Jordan Matthews) has been spectacular all year.

Well given the stats so far, we've got a good chance for some ints which will put things in our favor some. Their D has some decent stats but doesn't seem too impressive as far as ability to put pressure on opposing teams plus teams are doing well vs their D on 3rd down & red zone ops (those being part of our problem on offense though). If we can get some of those t/os & make points out of them, our chances to hang in there will play a large part in if we get a win. I'm hoping this will be close game that we pull it out in the end. I do see this one as being semi high scoring as in 30's.

The turnaround begins today.

At least Johnson knows we've had a good defense before, and capable of having a good defense again. We have a shot if the Vandy team that played UMASS shows up.

There isn't a team in the country that can't score at least 28 against our pathetic defense. I would wager most teams in the top 100 could hang that many on our defense in a quarter if they really wanted to.

It hurts to say it, but it's true. Our defense is barely Division Ii quality.

I don't think it hurts to say it too much. Either that or you are a masochist.
