I will come here Monday and eat crow if we allow Vanderbilt to score 13 against us. I think they are beatable, but it's going to take one hell of an effort. I think if we do find a way to win the game will be in the 30's, maybe even the 40's.

Vandy will hang 28+ on us. They are favored by 20 for a reason.

They can have 28, as long as we score 29.

They scored 25 on usc-e, who has a VERY good defense, and 35 on Ole Miss, who's defense isn't half bad. Now, Vandy did stink it up this week at UMASS. If we win, it will be a MAC-like score......something like 48-45.

In his defense, I had to read it several times...at first, I also thought you meant we'd hold them to less than 13, which sounded crazy

It's going to take at least 30 to win. QB has to be on target and the receivers can't drop the ones that hit them in the hands.

Yeah I realized that after the fact. Anybody who read anything I wrote over the weekend knows I don't believe there is a snowball's chance in hell of us holding Vanderbilt to under 13. I think we'll be lucky to hold them under 30, but I think our offense might be able to keep up in this game.

When he has a smart ass comment to everything he possibly can, he's going to get that kind of reaction. Had it been you, I would have simply stated I worded that poorly. I was merely writing my response to the thread title where it said 13 for Vandy. I understand that it was confusing.

Somebody else's turn in the barrel.

If we:

1) Don't turn the ball over,
2) Force turnovers, and
3) Eat up the clock with the running game

Then we can keep Vanderbilt's score low.

I want to score more points than they do, whatever it takes.

When the Fabulous Sports Babe was on the radio here locally you would have people calling her up & giving predictions.

She would respond - I don't recall asking for your prediction.

That's not the case in this thread, but still it reminded me of that.

Until I see our defense not get lit up like a pinball machine, I'll tend to assume that they are going to get lit up like a pinball machine. If we win, it will be in a shootout.

That's exactly how I feel. It's not like we've had one bad game defensively this season, it's been 3. Although, we did have a fairly decent first half defensively against Troy.
