How Do You Rank C-USA's Teams After 2 Weeks?
Still early, but this is how I see it right now.
East
1. ECU/Marshall -both still undefeated
3. Middle Tenn -put 20 points on a decent ACC team
4. UAB -Hey, it's a loss to LSU... None of us would have won
5. FAU -A least ECU is still in C-USA
6. FIU -Blanked by UCF
7. S. Miss -the home game that wasn't
West
1. Rice -Bye week
2. Tulsa -close win over CO State, but is Tulsa who we thought they were?
3. UNT/UTSA/LA Tech -Too close to call
6. UTEP -Lost at home to the team UTSA beat on the road last week
7. Tulane -Lost at home to South Alabama

RE: How Do You Rank C-USA's Teams After 2 Weeks?
East
1. Marshall/ECU - They won.
3. MT
4. UAB - Will finish lower if pass defense doesn't improve.
5. USM - I'm not ready to count out the Golden Eagles completely.
6. FAU - Decent defense but they've got to find some offense.
7. FIU
West - Rice hen't played anyone other than A&M. 2-7 currently interchangeable I just figure I can get people to reply to me if I put numbers beside the teams
1. Rice - I've been on the Owl bandwagon all summer.
2. Tulsa
3. UTSA
4. North Texas
5. LA Tech
6. UTEP
7. Tulane

2. MU (looking good)
3. MT
4. UAB
5. FAU

West
1. Tulsa
2. RU (0-1, but played decent)
3. LAT
4. UNT
5. UTSA

It's very, very close, IMHO. But if we played on a neutral field I really think UTEP would have the edge.

RE: How Do You Rank C-USA's Teams After 2 Weeks?
EAST
1 Marshall/ECU: Similar paths to 2-0. NO real tests yet for either, but both face quality opponents this week and next, so we'll see where we are later
3 MTSU: Need to beat Memphis this week
4 UAB. Still like their personnel over FAU and FIU
5 FAU. Solely on the strength of what I saw as flashes of decency on defense
6. USM: Schedule is likely, sadly, an 0-4 start.
7 FIU. I didn't see much hope in their play against UCF
WEST
1. Tulsa. Yeah, I know they lost to BG, but came back to pound out a win against a decent CSU team
2. Rice
3. North Texas. Gave a very good effort against a quality Ohio team
4. UTSA: Meh. Not impressed with 24 points in the 4th against the scrubs.
5. UTEP
6. La Tech
7. Tulane. USA, really? At home, really?

Only thing I'll say right now is that ECU and Marshall look the best at the current time. Too difficult to draw conclusions about Rice based upon one game.

1.MTSU
2.Marshall
3.ECU
4.USM
5.UAB
6.FAU
7.FIU
West looks bad.
1.RICE

I could be a homer and agree with the west standings but I would still put Tulsa ahead of UTSA. If we can get the win at Zona then we can revisit the order.

RE: How Do You Rank C-USA's Teams After 2 Weeks?
1. Marshall - will finally play a decent team against Ohio, Then Va. tech.
time will tell.
2. ECU - lots to work on but we are 2-0. Big measuring stick vs a solid Va.
tech team this weekend.
3. MT - not good, not bad.
4. UAB - I think is a little better than people think, slowly making strides
5. USM - talent is better than record, turn overs and mistakes killing
this team. Will get some victories this year.
6. FAU - formidable defense. lack luster and predictable offense.
7. FIU - Seems to be rebuilding a lot.
West
1. Rice - close race with weaker than expected Tulsa. Rice has small edge.
2. Tulsa - will get better, but disappointing start.
3. LA tech - rebuilding this year with Skippy.
4. UTSA - The ODU of the west. All offense, no defense.
5. UNT - Average.
6. UTEP - close to Tulane but a little better
7.. Tulane - lost to a bad FBS team.

No pass defense is more like it. Our run defense was stout for the second week in a row vs some really good RBs. We may see some changes in our secondary going forward. No argument with rankings though.

Just curious... On what basis would you put UTEP ahead of UTSA? They lost at home to a New Mexico team we beat on the road. And MTSU ahead of ECU and Marshall? Furthermore, USM (now losers of 14 straight) in the middle of the pack? Surely, you can't be serious with this stuff.

Not even I believe that we're ahead of Ootsa and Tulane but thanks anyway.

RE: How Do You Rank C-USA's Teams After 2 Weeks?
Right now I would have tulsa in the bottom 3 of the west. I think our d is better than expected but they are way to green and lack any depth. We just lost number 1 receiver and our line is terrible. Don't even get me started on the QB. I know it's early and we should improve throughout the year, but CSU is not a good team. I think we are playing for experience next year. I believe we will win some and lose some. We don't have a fast strike offense,so if we get down we will struggle every time

Don't have a damn clue...Overall the league looks pretty weak again this year. In the West, I guess Rice and Tulsa will fight it out for the title, could not really tell you for sure, so many teams I do not know much about. Looks like a 3 horse race in the east between MTSU, Marshall, and ECU.
