The students have been stellar in their support I know and its great ...and yes it was 35-9 vs a FCS school but the student section went from full rocking to half empty at the start of the second half. I know there's other college life to attend to on a Saturday night but I wish they'd hang out to at least the start of the 4th qtr.

If I were still in school I would have left for the bars in the third quarter. As an old fart, I stayed to watch the team sing the alma mater with the band. It is hilarious to watch the interaction between Director Frendz (sp?) and Coach Tuberville.

The gentleman and his wife that sit behind me would STRONGLY disagree.

He spent much of the game tapping everyone on the back shoulder to sit down when people were visiting with friends in other seats. We have lots of coach's families around us that have small kids that get up and down during the game. Even the beer vendors hang out by us since they can rest their tubs on the railings. It just about killed this guy.

I stood up to applaud Coney when he took the field for his first college appearance and he barked at me to sit down.

We all want new fans to come out to Nippert, but they can't expect an uninterrupted experience like watching it from their living room.

Uh good idea, but how do you prove people stayed til the end? Sign up sheet or retinal scanning?

Interns recording student ID #'s? Stand at the top of the stairs and hand out some sort of code to enter?

Where there is a will, there is a way.

RE: Nippert Crowd Management
Why?

We complain about when students leave a blowout against a FCS team nobody has ever heard of?

In my mind, any student who was there in the 4th Qtr on a Saturday night lacks imagination.

RE: Nippert Crowd Management
The fans here that are complaining are the biggest bunch of babies. You put OSU and UK fans to shame. You bit(h about students not showing up, and then when they do its not good enough.

I for one have not missed a game in three years, since the time I got my season tickets. The guy who sits next to me has six tickets but never makes more than two games per year. I don't complain because more often than not, someone is in those seats. And maybe at some point those fans might become season ticket holders.

Have I left games early, sure. I left last night at the end of the third quarter. I had the opportunity to do something else, but I had noone to take my tickets. I don't see a problem leaving a game early when the 3rd and 4th stringers are in playing mop up.

Anyone complaining about UC's student section mustn't have been around 8+ years ago when there was plenty of empty room in the student for every game. Today's students are great. They'll stay and be very loud when they need to stay. Last night they didn't need to so they left to go enjoy a great night in Clifton.

Why don't we implant a GPS chip when they enter and then we'll know who leaves early and not let them in the next game.

RE: Nippert Crowd Management
Every school has issues with people bailing during a blow-out. I have been at games at Ohio State against bad MAC teams and seen half the stadium bail after it gets out of hand in the third quarter. The issue for UC is that we have a smaller stadium and everyone harps on our attendance.
