For over a year, the ACC and FSU in particular, was on the receiving end of a coordinated online set of attacks designed to destabilize the ACC. Those attacks were from butt hurt West Virginia fans. If you have any connection at all with the powers that be inside ACC schools, you will know that they want nothing to do with UConn, and it stems primarily from their experience in 2004 with Connecticut AG Blumenthal. UConn's insistence that because they moved up to D1 football about 12-15 years ago and built a new stadium makes them deserve inclusion in a B-5 conference is laughable to anyone who lives in the South and is familiar with a half dozen great FCS teams who have expanded their stadiums, not to mention what ECU has done over not the last 15 years, but the last 40 years.

Perhaps ACC and soon to be ACC folks are tired of their complaining. That's my guess.

Thats BS. UConn was going to get the invite until FSU and Clemson threw their weight around about wanting a FB school.

they were never gonna get an invite. and fyi dont cite a game until its actually over dummy

Really? Then why did FSU and Clemson have to throw their weight around?

Also watch who you are calling dummy mr. fan of 8 teams.

who says they have to? thats an assumption based on logic. im sure they hate uconn, but its a joke to say they are the only ones who dont want them. BC has gone public with their displeasure with uconn. syracuse was reported to have been a major opponent of uconn as well

You are an uniformed fool young man. 03-rotfl

FSU, Clemson, GT, NC State, VT, and BC did not want them, and I would know.

From an ACC blog.

http://atlanticcoastconvos.com/2012/11/1...-big-east/

"If the only goal is to simply replace Maryland with another school, then the clear-cut choice would be Connecticut. Providing another team in the general northeast area, the Huskies already have rivalries with Syracuse and Pittsburgh, plus an easy new one with regional foe Boston College. But there’s so much more to consider as realignment takes a turn. Up until this point the number-one rule of realignment was John Swofford always wins. Now that this has been proven patently false, the league must quickly adjust, not only to add replace the Terps, but to keep the rest of its members in place as well. And that’s no easy task, considering the league’s pipeline for new members has virtually dwindled to four."

"For UConn, the draws are an easy cultural and academic fit, well-rounded athletics outside of football and a close proximity to ESPN’s Bristol, Conn. campus. Louisville, while lagging behind on the academic front, has made a huge investment in athletics over the past 10 years and has strong football and basketball brands. The Louisville area also appears to be a growing market, and could potentially be an assist when it comes to television negotiations."

How about another ACC blog?

http://www.nunesmagician.com/2012/11/19/...l-the-accs

It quotes this tweet.

@JFowlerCBS ACC in talks with UConn, Louisville, South Florida and Cincinnati about 14th team to replace Maryland, source told @CBSSports.

One thing that I learned during realignment is that you cant believe anyone, including media and sources until the news conference with with officials announcing the invitations. Any team could contact the Acc and let them know that they are interested in joining the league and selling themselves to the league and they would be in talks with the league.

RE: How many games does UConn win?
thats all assumptions. it has never been documented to say that uconn was the clear favorite to join the acc but a few schools blackballed them

you are like wvu & fsu fans from a year ago.

your first article is: "we think uconn would be a good fit for the acc and heres why.....the acc should add uconn"

-which is pretty much identical to those FSU to the b12 articles from a year ago.

your second article states that uconn was one of 4 schools that the acc looked at. no ones denying that the acc looked at uconn that should be pretty obvious.

C'mon are all of you ACC fans really going to stand there and say that there was no decision to be made and it was unanimous with no one bringing up any other team? Thats a joke right?

for me its......

unless a major network is reporting school X is.....(with people going on the record)

-in talks with conference x about joining conference X
-will join conference X

you cant say anything is going on. these uconn/fsu would be a good fit the acc/b12 according to a school president dont tell us anything.

you need to learn to read. what we are saying is that a few schools were mentioned, uconn was looked at but was shot down rather quickly. no ones denying the acc looked at uconn, but they second cuse/pitt joined uconns acc dreams died with that move

Wow, I didnt say any of that. But I dont believe for a minute that the Acc was even remotely considering USF when they have schools like Miami and FSU in the league. The point is that just because USF was mentioned by a media source doesnt mean that the Acc was seriously considering them. For the record, I do believe that it was between Louisville and Uconn. I'm glad the Acc made the RIGHT decision.

Losing to Penn State by 5 on a neutral field > Losing to Towson by 15 at home

UConn dominated the series with Syracuse. Not surprising that a Syracuse poster would try to tear down the UConn FB program. Lingering resentment.

Even if they had beaten Towson, they only figured to be favored in 4 or so games.

UConn FB is now officially in hibernation .... just like Louisville under Kragthorpe and Boston College under Spaziani.

It will take a new coach and a couple years to recover.
