Nope, this year is a waste and we will need someone to be able to score after Batten and Ross graduate in '15 or that '15-'16 season could be worse than this year and last year.

Still surprised JJ couldnt get a big man in here for this season. I was hoping for a freshman or transfer that would get PT this year and the turnaround would start next season. As it is, I still have faith the pendulum starts swinging in our favor after this season, it just may take a little longer to get where we expect it to go.

I wasn't particularly surprised by that. With the admittedly scant knowledge of recruiting that I have, I imagine that recruiting, especially quality big men, requires somewhat of a relationship to have been developed over a bit of time. I wouldn't think anybody he might have had on his radar for American would be anybody ODU would be looking at.

Can't play this season. I know people have said he's good, but I have a hard time believing a solid mid major basketball big man with skills got overlooked by not just every D1 team, but every D2 team as well. It can happen though. Freeman went to Campbell, Curry went to Liberty, but at least those were D1 schools. I guess well see. I hope he's the next Patrick Ewing.

yeah, I think he's eligible this season.

The dude can play this year but it was a desperation move. He's 6'7 or so, not 6'10 or so he's not really " a big man", IMO. Averaged what 3 or 4 points wherever he came from. Jones got who he could get and that's just the way it is. He will be here two years. At least they have enough guys to practice now. We are gonna be a tiny team this year as Ed Miller said in his blog.

Oh well, I've seen it all from 6 &22 Tom Young teams to 5&25 last year and good teams in between it all and before it. It is gonna take us years to get back to respectable, just the way it is. I kinda hope Freeman gets saved for year after next myself. Next year is gonna be brutal no matter how you look at it.

All I hear is a lot of negative speculation that this newest guy is not very good.Have any of you actually seen him play or are you just being negative for the sake of being neg.

All we know is that he averaged 3 points per game at the JUCO level. Glad to have a big body to rebound and defend, but we were hoping for a little more.
