What is odd is that some think he was kicked off the team for no valid reason. I don't know if he is a good kid or not, but I trust the McGee did what was best for the team and not an individual.

No, of course there is so reason that is why I said it was odd. Maybe the new scene will help him. I know O'Leary isn't going to put up with any goofing off.

How about setting a bad example at practice with a lack of effort, or bad sportsmanship? He's been suspended for a game before, for violation of team rules.

This has been adopted by the message boards as the reason he's gone. Mind you there is no proof, but someone said it made sense, so it became undeniable fact.

Yeah, I did a double-take when UCF announced that he had transferred to UCF after being dismissed from UAB. GOL typically recruits character as well as talent and academics. Some would say he recruits that way to a fault. I'm assuming they did their homework on Williams before accepting him, but I would still like to know what "culture" McGee thought Williams didn't fit in with. We'll see what happens. We lose only Godfrey after this season, so we'll still have a lot of weapons at WR. Adding Williams will make that one hell of rotation.

you have two of our coaches from under the Calloway era that knew him from his sophomore season.

Because no reason was disclosed doesn't mean there wasn't one. Having said that, I'll speculate and say I think it just came down to a clash of personalities. I've known lots of fine people who couldn't be in the same room with other fine people.

Maybe McGee saw the head-butting becoming a problem, and reached this conclusion as a way to resolve it. He's still a young head coach. Might be he makes a different decision in similar circumstances five years from now.

Meantime, UCF is getting a receiver I think Blazer fans universally hate to see go, and wish nothing but the best.

I guess we'll just have to trust our coaches (UAB & UCF) that this is what's best for both programs....and for Williams. I hope he does well with this new opportunity. Time will tell.

I thought maybe he banged the coaches wife or something. At any rate, best of luck on Mr. Williams' future endeavors.
