The more and more I read about bowl games (P5/E$PN corrupting the bowl system, too many bowl games, etc.), the more and more pissed I get.

I don't know. I don't see a lot of this happening. There are members of the Mountain West and AAwhatever league who would rather not associate with Conference USA, The Sun Belt, or the MAC. The BCS teams have all but shut out non BCS teams with the playoff system and in turn shut off the money. They will also be scheduling fewer out of conference games. I say the 5 other conferences should form their own football division, refuse out of conference games with the "Big" conferences, refuse bowls, and have their own playoff system and championship.

But isn't that just what the Big Money conferences want? I say it's anti-trust lawsuit time.
Quote:6-7 UCLA in 2011 and 6-7 Georgia Tech in 2012 each receiving ..an NCAA waiver to play in a bowl.
That is BS.
Quote:Ken Hoffman, chairman and executive director of the Little Caesars Bowl, told ESPN he has been in contact with officials from each of the smaller "Group of Five" conferences about starting future bowl games in Ireland, Dubai and either Toronto or Nassau.
Are ya freakin' kidding me? We can't even have a bowl in our own [expletive] country!??

I know, what the hell is that all about? For Toronto, people might go, unless they don't have a passport. A few people would go to Ireland or Nassau as part of a vacation I suppose but not very many.

Toronto does make some sense as a few Canadian athletes come down here to play college ball and American athletes sometimes go into the CFL. I get that.
Nassau...the ONLY thing I see there is that from the East or Midwest a flight to Nassau might actually be cheaper than a flight to, say, Boise.
As far as Europe or the ME--so we're supposed to send our teams on a flight of anywhere from 6 to 15 hours, to play what amounts to an exhibition game that few domestic fans will attend, so they can serve as ambassadors for American college football and ultimately draw more attention to the Big Money conferences? Screw that!!
Sue the bastages!

Speaking for myself, I'd be happy with Los Angeles; Ireland; or Nassau, Bahamas. Certainly should satisfy the criticism of some wanting to get out of the Toledo/Detroit area.

I didn't recall it failing. What happened? Or didn't happen?
