Your Jedi mind trick will not work on this board. This is no the board you are looking for. And, nobody said stadium use was denied, just a locker room.

Sounds more like a mafia threat to me. A bit less subtle than "real nice stadium you got there" but the sentiment is the same.

I agree. I immediately heard DUM DUM DUUUUUM when I saw Cougar Hippy's post. I don't think we want to get on the bad side of the all-powerful University of Houston--the Harvard of I-45 South Between Cullen and Old Spanish Trail.

A soccer game was played at Minute Maid several years ago with the field running from the 3rd base side to right field.

Because of the "damage to the field issues" are the Texans hesitant to let schools use Reliant on Saturdays before their Home Games?

What I want to know is, if it is true, then why aren't these issues at the top of the priority list? Surely these things could be fixed for less than the $45M and who-knows-how-many years an entirely new building will take.

There is no money to fix them. That's what I've been trying to explain.

The only way they can figure out how to get money to fix them is a capital campaign to build a new facility. That's what's wrong here. I don't think there's anybody around who understands operating revenues.

I would think this could be solved by simply giving Leebron a tour of the locker rooms. Surely not every million of the $1B Centennial has already been allocated.

When Leebron was asking for suggestions for places to visit during his *walkabout*, my suggestion was the aforementioned locker room.

I thought they were ordering a FieldTurf field to rotate in for HS and college games.

I believe they took delivery of that turf. The problem is getting the grass back in just so in order for the Texans to play I would imagine

They can't go from Field Turf to carting in the grass pallets in under 12 hours can they?

Leebron is aware of the locker room conditions. And, he has stated that it is a priority to address them. He even stated his support for the old south EZF facility. Based on other comments here, it sounds like the north EZF plan has more steam.

I may have missed something. Are there plans online to see the north ezf approach?

Only comments here, as I understand it. I am simply referring to comments others have made on Parliament.

I've seen no drawings but was told they are at the architect now. This is basically the same as the original idea. The only reason I can think of for EVER looking to the south was the need to do something with that end as well and potentially killing two birds with one stone.

I thought that was doable. That's one of the reasons for having an approach like that. This article (found via Google search) indicates less than a day, though at 7 minutes per tray for 59 trays should be a whole lot less than that.

Comment from JD on the HRS/UH situation in his post on RG's leaving:

"This has nothing to do with talks. The two schools have been in constant talks, trying to iron out a few details such as locker room situation, and an announcement could come by early next week."

Hopefully this all gets worked out, but ya gotta admit, a rousing chant of "WHOSE TENTS? COOGS' TENTS!" would be pretty funny.

I think it's nice of us to let our little brother us a full-size stadium for a change.

This is a "return to the roots". U of H played their home games at HRS when I was a student - late 1950's.

HBU was really generous to move their game after we had a little chat about using BBVA. 03-wink
