No one is arguing that and now you're changing the argument.

How old are you?

This is why Texas plays those schools in ooc, we play in a p5 conference therefore don't need many key games in the schedule. We play UCLA and Ole Miss.

So why did you say this then?

Bc an AAC school would be one of those schools that would try to ruin our season even though they would not be playing for a championship.

Good point, but one could say the same about Iowa State and Baylor the previous two years.

Yeah there is nothing that can be done about them. We are obligated to play them.

Had lunch with a UT admin and they are under pressure to add two more and the two he mentioned sickend me. Not Cincy, USF or UCF. Houston was mentioned but was third or fourth.

Temple and Memphis?

Tulane and Memphis?

UCONN and Memphis?

UNLV and Boise?

New Mexico and Boise?

New Mexico and UNLV?
All of those sans Houston is 03-puke worthy

But at least we were mentioned...

I think ECU would be a great pick for the Big 12, good attendance, good football culture, not so great media market. But I think UHouston would even be better...

If what our SMU fellow is saying is true...

Let's start by taking the AAC:

UH, UC, UConn, Memphis, Tulane, Navy, ECU, SMU, USF, UCF, Tulsa, Temple.

Subtract the three mentioned as "out":

UH, UConn, Memphis, Tulane, Navy, ECU, SMU, Tulsa, Temple.

Subtract those that are a geographic nightmare:

UH, Memphis, Tulane, ECU, SMU, Tulsa.

Tulsa is a redundant market, and UH/SMU are "backup" choices:

Memphis, Tulane, ECU.

There are benefits and drawbacks to each choice. What do you guys consider to be the next eliminating factor?

EDIT: Let's add in the reasonable MWC choices.

Tulane, Memphis, ECU, New Mexico, UNLV, Colorado State.

After making this statement, please do yourself and all of us AAC members a favor and remove Memphis from:

Based on your assumption, my picks would be ECU and Memphis. However, I can't see a football first conference adding Memphis. Nevertheless, I could see Memphis as a B12 bridge to WV and ECU:

RE: We are leaving the AAC. Good Bye!!
If Tulane goes to the Big XII, then that tiny brand-new stadium we're building will actually sell out. Getting a mere 25k in the city to watch Tulane play Texas or OK State will be an easy task. There are no academic/institutional questions in adding Tulane (presidents like us). What we DON'T offer is a big fanbase - we're very mid-major in that regard.

ECU pairs nicely with WVU. ECU also has a HUGE following - they are very power-school in that regard. ECU also has a decent football tradition. ECU in the Big XII becomes a 60-65k draw every weekend. Unfortunately, ECU is poorly ranked academically - but I personally feel that they're underrated as a school. I know very gifted people that went there - and I think that UNC, Duke, and Wake Forest are making them look 'dumber' than they really are.

Memphis has a big FB stadium that they have issues filling (reminds me of Tulane in the Superdome). Memphis has an elite basketball program. Memphis likely offers the Liberty Bowl with their admittance. Memphis has a sizable fanbase - although they care more about BB than FB. Memphis could really become the new Louisville with the correct leadership and investment. My biggest concern - if they want a BB-first city school, why not Cincinnati? They can cover both fronts better than Memphis and have been comp. with the conference in OOC games.

I realistically see the B12 adding UC and ECU. Those are the two best schools to pair with WV.

I think ECU could be one of the two since the WV AD was lobbying for the school.

I betcha it's Cin and ECU. The most logical for WVU's travel partners

"What about Temple?" They've been kicked out of a major conference before
"What about Memphis?" If WV had to choose between ECU (long history with) and Memphis it would be ECU.
"What about UCONN?" Too far North
"What about U_F?" Too far South
"What about Navy?" We're not even sure Navy is staying in AAC let alone moving to the B12
"What about Tulane?" 03-lmfao

UH and SMU will be blocked by Texas
Tulsa will be blocked by Oklahoma

Adding Cincinnati and ECU effectively ends the AAC.

Things could get scary for schools like Temple, SMU, and Tulane if that happens.

If the AAC fails, I'd like to see Tulane set up a 6 home/5-6 away schedule as an independent. The road games would need to be $$ games at places like Oregon, Ohio State, Florida, and Michigan. The home games would need to be against bad teams that we could beat.
