J Simms starting for Rice after a brief but consequential intervention in Friday's game.

Oh man, there goes my non-existent bet. Single scores one for UAB with a collision at home as described by JPH

Two walks, two strikeouts and one big hit and Simms is off to a strange start. Got to stabilise and adjust and come on Owl hitters.

Whenever I see UAB in print I want to put an SQ in front of it. I shall call them the SQUABS.

Squabs get a double play and we go to the bottom of the second down 1-0.

Is it anyone worried that our two stud pitchers are suddenly struggling down the stretch of the season? IMO, that's a much more serious issue than any hitting issues.

Byrd gets the RBI groundout. Stringer up. Runner on third with two outs. Stringer goes to 3-2 and walks leaving runners at the corners. for Ford who grounds out. 2-1 Squabs going to B3.

Yes, I worry about that all the time. They seem fragile at this point of the season.

Don't know FBO. I have voiced concern about inconsistency, which is somewhat related to your point, and I have been told there is no inconsistency. So, go figure.

Woot! Simms sends them back to the dugout 1-2-3 for the first time and did the sun just come out? I don't know. I'm not watching the video feed. GameTracker got brighter though.
