Conference at the mound: What did you have for breakfast? I don't know. I drank beer last night. Where's the crowd? Um, why are we playing this early?. End of conference. No outs, runner on first for Hoelscher's sac bunt.
Nice idea and well-performed, but still the same outcome as a bunt.
ETA for those not watching: Hoelscher showed bunt, pulled back and took a mini swing to dump it onto the grass between the mound and 2b. 2b and SS made good plays though and threw Hoelscher out at 1st. Cook advanced.

JP rhapsodizing on air about Jose Enrique' s good looks and Chase Mallard comes on to pitch for the Squabs. Mallard will not be able to duck Perrott and Byrd. Where is Smackdaddy when you need him?

Don't know FBO. I have voiced concern about inconsistency, which is somewhat related to your point, and I have been told there is no inconsistency. So, go figure.
Ranger,
You, of course, are correct, the pitching has been inconsistent. No bad, but inconsistent. Of course my view is that nothing is consistent over 56 games unless you possess a significant talent advantage over the opposition. This year's version does not have such an advantage. They will have to win together, or not win.
Well, I'm surprised Big John didn't go longer but at least he will be rested for his next appearance or start. 3-2 Squabs. Our Chase, Mc Dowell comes in to stem the tide.

Simms in a tough role by both starting and relieving. Props to him for filling that role. Someone frankly just needs to pick him up.
