Charlotte Having a good spring
Baseball is 1/2 game out of first, soccer is in first place 1/2 game up. Tennis lost in semi, Golf Charlotte won the conference championship.

RE: Charlotte Having a good spring
Baseball was off to a really slow start but seems to be hitting their stride at the right time. We have a great all around athletics program but the fact that men's basketball has stuggled lately has put a dark cloud on the success.

Correct, and I understand that as of this morning, baseball is in a 3 way tie atop the conference.

Also, Charlotte's women track team won their 3rd straight conference championship

Getting Ogbueze would be pretty huge.
I'm really hoping we keep Nickerson, but it sounds like he's likely on his way out.

EVic is gone. Announced earlier today by the AD.
Quote:On Wednesday, Cameron Blakley, a 6-foot-8, 220-pound senior power forward from Apalachee High School in Winder, Ga., is expected to sign a letter of intent to play for Charlotte.
Blakley’s high school coach, Kevin Morris, confirmed Blakley verbally committed to the 49ers after making a visit to the school last week.
Blakley, who averaged 16.9 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game this season, also received offers from Northwestern, East Carolina, Furman and USC Upstate, his coach said.
"I think Cam is a good fit for Charlotte," Morris said. "He’s a big-time shot blocker and he and can step out and shoot the 3-pointer."
Morris said Blakley was already academically eligible. Blakley is the first freshman for the 49ers’ 2013 recruiting class.

Actually a full game in first right now. Saint Louis and La Salle tied for second. With our final series against Saint Louis and the tiebreaker over La Salle, we only have to win 2 of the last 3 to guarantee 1st place.

Awesome! We probably have to win the conference tournament to get to keep playing, so I hope we can keep performing at the level we're playing or take it up a knot.

Since the tourney is at the Hayes, we should have the advantage, especially if we finish out regular season champs. No better way to finish out our time in the A10 than with a double championship in the last sport of the year.

This isn't worth starting a thread so I am just dropping it here because I thought the bowl game count was a really interesting metric.
"As a start-up staff, the 49ers coaching experience is noteworthy. The staff has coached for over 100 years and in over 20 college bowl games."
