I'm all for adding Missouri State to the West, I just don't see how we would make it work unless Louisiana moved to the East.

I voted for JMU. I feel like they are in the best shape, especially with football. I would have voted for Mo. State if JMU was off the board because it would help in basketball, and give a closer opponent for the western schools.

GATA, for a team like Missouri State we might have to move around, but it could be for the best. I remember one time USA was in the West for basketball, then got moved back to the East. We all are moveable for the best interest of the conference.

JMU and JSU. I find it funny that JSU fans make up this alternate reality that Troy fans are afraid of them. The truth is most Troy fans welcome to chance to restart the only true rivalry we've ever had. I say bring them on.

JMU would normally help a little in basketball. Like having the Eastern coverage we may get from having JMU on board the SB.

JMU being good at basketball is a myth. I'm not sure why everyone believes it.
Their average RPI over the last 10 seasons is 231. They have finished inside the top 100 of the RPI only once in that time (In 2011 they had an RPI of 90). At this time they will not help the league in basketball.

James Madison RPI by year:
2013 - 182
2012 - 261
2011 - 90
2010 - 241
2009 - 122
2008 - 218
2007 - 300
2006 - 299
2005 - 305
2004 - 289

Not that they were ever on the list of realistic options, but we can eliminate Northern Iowa as a possible 12th team. Their AD said "“Frankly as things sit today, our budget would have to increase by about $6-7 million to be a median level Sun Belt or Mid-American Conference budget."

Jax St.

Edit: Saw the "other" option. My unrealistic, yet possibly realistic #1 choice would be Southern Miss.

New coach came on board in 2009 after our program made 2 disaster HC hires. So that's probably a more representative sample of our current state. Also, your 2013 RPI seems off...think we finished around 170.

5 yr average is around 175. Not great...not bad....things seem to be headed back to where we spent the 80's and 90's as a top mid-major.

JMU, Missouri St, JSU, Stay at 11, Liberty, Chattanooga, Citadel

In that order.

Really? Chatty and Citadel? No thank you.

Missouri State and JMU would be good, but I'm not sure JMU fits, nor are they interested. Personally, I like the idea of Jax State.

The 2013 RPI was 182 when I had done research earlier. After all postseason was completed it went to 169. So while 182 was correct after the regular season (when I had looked originally) the final RPI after the season was 169. I'll make an update in my notes!

Said they would help a little in basketball, never said they were good. They would bring more basketball presence to the NE for the Sun Belt which should help bb recruiting a little.

I don't necessarily buy this. No way to know I suppose. But has being there helped them? Legitimate question. I see high RPI history and it scares me. I understand down years, but I pulled a decade's worth or RPI! Btw, I'm not opposed to JMU at all. I just keep seeing how people say they will help our basketball and I have to question it!!

I went with Missouri State, but I also wouldn't mind Jax State (would make travel better on us). I was really interested in JMU, and I still think they would be a good add, but I'm not liking their perceived lack of interest.

All in all, travel aside, I would go with #1 Missouri State, #2 Jax State.
