Exclamation Season Tickets
How many of you have renewed or are renewing season tickets? I have heard from a few folks who are taking a step back this year and am curios to see if it is a larger trend?

RE: Season Tickets
I'm not renewing, although I will still donate and probably attend every game. I bought a pair of tickets last year and had a very difficult time finding friends to go. Ultimately, I ended up getting friends to go to more road games (at UR, at fedex) than I did home games.

I'll still be at every home game, and maybe one or two on the road, but I'm not burning money on an unused ticket this year.

RE: Season Tickets
I'll renew for one more year to see how things shake out. If we don't have any definitive news by next may, I'll skip the season tix and just buy tix for the games I can attend. I'll only make it to 2 home games this year, along with 2 away games, so it's tough to justify the ongoing expense if we stay status quo.

Donation may change based on that, but I will continue to go back as long as my friends are coming back as well. Six weekends in the fall to see old friends and make new ones.

Same here. Only reason I can't make it to all of them is that we live 6 hours away so we can only make 3-4 per year. The actual game is 3 hours...tailgating sometimes lasts more like 8 hours.

Season Tickets
I will speak for myself and then I'll speak for my group of friends.
Myself, I have renewed my two tickets and plan on going to 9 games just like last year. Akron, Delaware and Towson on the road. Still don't know if I'm going to W&M.
I am at the same donation level and neither increased nor decreased. I'll increase to a higher giving class if an official FBS invite is accepted, any conference.
For my friends, 4 season tickets will not be renewed by them. However, they have never seemed to be swayed by Fbs/Fcs status and I doubt they're highly aware of our current stalemate the past 2-3 years. I suspect they're not able to attend 6 games per year, as they live in Nova and Va beach.
I think it all took more of their time and money then they realized going into the season.
One friend is frustrated that the offense can't seem to get anything done and says football is entertainment and he's not entertained. Then the other two are influenced by him and if he doesn't show and tailgate, then their enthusiasm likely takes a hit.
They're more casual than me, so they may buy one or two single game tickets. We will see.

RE: Season Tickets
Have already renewed my season tickets for this fall and have also put a deposit down on WBB season tickets.

Upped my DC donation by 10% as I have the last couple of years.

I did not renew season tix last year due to lack of vision but I ended up at most home games either via a gate ticket or a gift ticket. Not renewing this year and how many games I attended via gate or gift depends on the direction of the program this summer. This is the same message I'm getting from my crew of four, all JMU alum in NoVa.

If we go 1A I'll renew and re-up tix, if we stay in the CAA I'm not sure what I'll do, there are competing entertainment options. Bourne & Co. can't claim we did not have the opportunity to move up, they get it done or they don't in my eyes.

Already renewed. Have a 4 year committment to the club seats. I may not come back after my committment ends if we are not FBS or at least transitioning by then.

RE: Season Tickets
Increased my donation and I am renewing my season tickets. I have 4 seats in the upper level but I am going to try and move to 2 seats in the chairbacks. I can only make 2 or 3 games a year since I live in Arizona and usually have tickets that go unused. If it wasn't for Hburg I would have to eat many more.

Sure I'll get ripped for this but those that want to see JMU football move forward and also cutting off your tickets/donations are cutting off your nose to spite your face. This is the year and the time to make this happen. We have a new president and we're clearly deciding the future of our football program.

Fans jumping off the bandwagon because it hasn't happened yet or because ODU moved ahead of us or whatever other excuse is out there is fast way to show everyone that we're not ready to support a move up.

I think most people on here have said that they're renewing for another year, but want to hear something by the next renewal cycle. I think that's reasonable.

Also, most people aren't saying "I'll stop supporting JMU"....it's just that money may be directed elsewhere at JMU--which also seems reasonable.

Re-upped and increased donation big time. If we're not moving to FBS by 2014, I'll probably drop from club seats to single game tickets and Convo parking. If we're going to stay FCS, I'll give FCS money. Just not shelling out $3000+ a year for FCS....call me fair weather.

RE: Season Tickets
I'm renewing my tickets this year, but I'm going to play it, year by year. If my reparking position sucks, if fewer of my friends come to games, or if I see a cut-rate commitment to football, then I will probably pullback next year. It will not be solely based on a move to FBS/ no move to FBS, though.

I agree, patiently waiting to see which side of the "decision" we land. The FBS crowd that I know is continuing to be patient and have not left the building, some are very confident we make the move this summer. In any case, those with low seat priority, many recent broke grads don't risk much waiting to renew, they can renew once a vision is communicated or buy at the gate or get pushed out by sellouts, as JMU fans they win any way.
