UCF was a dumpster fire before he got there and he's won 4 division titles, 2 C-USA championships, 2 bowls, and finished in the top 25 1 time. In terms of the non-AQ landscape that's pretty good.

Its the "emo" generation mostly....they don't get it and will never ever get it.

They would rather have a "BFF" than someone who had to completely rebuilt a football program, like you noted, was in squalor when he arrived.

Heck, one main "hater" in this thread who HATED GOL from the get-go just because of "words from others", never even met the man or heard him speak during his first 5-6 years at UCF...and after he did hear him speak he said (paraphrase) "Dang...he's a funny guy and even personable, no clue why I listened to my friends who supposedly had".

I will never care if my coach is a BFF or not...as long as they are working hard for my school.

Growing up in Atlanta, I'm very familiar with GOL. I also sat next to him on a 2 hour plane ride 4 years ago and talked the entire time. He's a funny guy, very down to earth. However it is still time for him to go.

Did you bother to tell him you only show up to get hammered and not to go to the games?

Idiot.

Judging by the crowd at Memory Mall vs inside the stadium, I'm not the only one. 07-coffee3

Back then I use to go to all the games, even the mid-week games. I had season tickets.

There will always be a percentage of people that just want to tailgate and leave, but I don't buy the O'leary thing. He has 2 straight bowl wins and 10 or more wins 2 out last 3 years. Ucf doesn't have the ability at this time to stock 4 and 5 star players so I say we are doing fine based on former c-USA affiliation, revenue, and overall prestige vs major players. It is near impossible to be top 25 regular in the non-BCS. Only Boise in recent years has done it because their coach is loyal.

I've been a fan since indy days of '98. Our program has been riding up ever since with a few bumps to be expected.

What's his record?

26-14 with 2 bowl wins over the last 3 years. That's a 65% winnin percentage...

Oh if I could only cherry pick dates in life.

You're the one cherry picking, Firm. KNIGHT TIME pointed out UCF's record over the last 3 years. You're implying that what happened over the last 3 years doesn't matter. So you're more concerned about what the team did 4 or more years ago than about what they've accomplished the last 3 years? 01-wingedeagle

There were plenty of immature students in the 80's, 90's and 00's back at the Citrus Bowl that use to tailgate and NEVER went to games...ALL well before GOL....and odds are...in the future, regardless of who is the coach, there will be immature students who will tailgate and never go to games...its what they do...hence why they are immature.
