I will admit I am probably not as knowledgeable on the happenings in MAC football as I should be, but this schedule looks incredibly favorable. In all honesty, I could see us anywhere from 12-0 to 8-4, but I think the season will finish out at 10-2.

I think Ball St can beat Virginia but that would put them at 11-1 and I can't say I'm ready to do that. The schedule is pretty favorable. I also think they will beat Western but that will be a good one.

Yeah, UVA is certainly beatable, but I guess I was just trying to be a bit cautious.
They were certainly sub-par last season at 4-8, but the game is away.

Kent State should be close to what they were last year as well. Much of their O is returning including Dri Archer

RE: Season prediction thread
I agree about KSU but Ball State had them on the ropes last year at Kent St. As long as the line holds up, BSU has all of their offensive skill players back.......and it's at home.
If they were playing there, I would probably call Kent with the win.

With that much talent returning, I wish the Cardinals were playing more than 1 AQ team. Looking forward to the game in DeKalb late this fall.

This is going to sound dumb.but Ill. State worries me. They are a good team. I just dont want BSU to get a big head with the hype and look past this...please reassure me I am crazy!

RE: Season prediction thread
I've seen too many BSU losses to talk big before playing an FCS team. Everything I've read is that they lost a lot on defense.
While BSU lost a lot of their line, most of the new starters played significant time because of injuries. As long as they hold up, I think BSU will score and make it difficult for Illinois State to keep up.

RE: Season prediction thread
11-1, me thinks that's a bit ambitious.
I see a loss to either UT or KSU (KSU has the defense to hurt you, UT has the offense). A loss to NIU, VA, and WMU on the road (pretty much the same team took you to OT in Muncie last year).
At least 4 losses, still a great season. Nice schedule though.

Ball State will probably get destroyed by North Texas but should do pretty well against the rest of their schedule.
The NIU game may be the Cardinals only other major test during the regular season.

RE: Season prediction thread
Umm, Ball State DID get beat by North Texas, solidly, after starting to stomp them in the 1st quarter. BSU folded, unfortunately.
NIU beat Toledo, and stomped Virginia -- those were both solid recognizable wins.
Their next one is on Wed, their toughest game of the year.
They'll probably lose. But be 10-2 at regular season's end. BUT they could win, and end up being 11-1, and potentially 12-1... and then potentially 13-1. If they do that, they'll be ranked in the Top 20 by the end of the post-season.
