Old Duke is correct that the time will come when physically everyone will come to enjoy the comfort of a seat. Basically, it all just comes down to common courtesy. I am always aware of my surroundings and who is behind me. If I see them standing then I know it is alright for me to stand if I choose. Kind of like the guy who lights up a cigarette and the smoke annoys you when they know smoking isn't allowed. Common courtesy.
If anyone stands in front of us this year (at home games) they are in for a long fall.

I guess I am on an island with this one. I certainly am courteous and know my surroundings but I actually believe that football games are best watched standing up. I understand the age thing and if you can't stand up then you should be in a section that doesn't stand up. I also pay attention to make sure that kids can see. Certainly there are times where sitting is ok but for most of the game, I enjoy standing up and cheering. I think it makes the games more exciting. I am glad folks in 109 are ok with this and hope that they never tire of this approach. I do believe that you have to follow the majority rules approach though. If the majority of the people are standing, then unless you aren't able, you need to stand. The single family that complains about a whole section standing up needs to ask the usher to change seats in my opinion. Just because you paid for a ticket doesn't give you the right to decide how the majority of the people want to watch the game. I am probably going to get hammered on this but this is my opinion.

I suggest that you get your seat on the back row where you can stand on your seat if you want. That way you do not bother anyone.

If either of you stood during the second half of the Elon or Towson game last year it was due to a sore ash or to go to the head.

I get the it's more fun to stand and cheer argument, but please tell me how one is supposed to know if the folks in front of you are standers or not? You have absolute no control over who buys the seats in front of you. One can only hope that they will show some common courtesy (which apparently you do, but you are in the minority I think), but there are those who don't give a damn about those around them and there isn't a whole lot one can do outside of asking them to please sit down ... in particular during those non critical parts of the game.
What gets me are the people who sit in the FIRST row of a section (with totally unobstructed views) who refuse to recognize that they are ruining the game for the other 95% sitting behind them. These people stand when there is no reason to stand ... not necessarily cheering, but simply standing and chatting, texting, etc, etc. These are the same people who often drive 60 in the passing lane on a 70-mph highway. They are either oblivious to the world around them or they are just rude people. Whatever the reason, they ruin it for the majority.

I did say football which would disqualify both of these

People who stand all game are not people driving 10 mph under the speed limit. That's hilarious.
They're the entitled schmucks who will try to run you off the road because you're not driving 100 mph and God forbid they have to tap their brake to not rear end you.

I was trying to think of an eloquent way to say it last week without being a dick but I think you did it well. I'm almost always standing all the time in football, unless it's halftime, timeout, game sucks, etc. If I wanted to sit, I would watch it at home. Used to be the same way about basketball when there was a healthy dose of people to stand with on the floor at the Convo. When I see games at home on TV and everyone - i mean EVERYONE is standing - it's exciting. Sports are best done standing IMHO. Now, there are those who can't or don't. That's fine. It's your choice. Then there's the majority rule too; when everyone's sitting, don't be a dick and stand.
As people are choosing their seats this summer, there's only ONE section in all of Bridgeforth that has a label that specifically says that people in 109 stand and cheer the entire game. If you want to sit, don't go to 109 and don't complain about it because you were warned. If you and your family come to 109 and sit behind me and tell me to sit down (and it's mid-game with others standing and it's appropriate to stand), you'll get as much of an ear full from me about standing in 'my' section as you will from BSKB about sitting in his section. Book it.

I do as well. With that being said, there was one game my buttocks did not ever rest on a seat and it was not at BFS, but rather, Chattanooga. May as well not had seats other than for something to get me even higher in the air.

So it looks like about 20% of our premium club seats/parking spots went unclaimed. Not as bad as I had feared, but still not a good development.

RE: Reparking
Just checked the parking site. There is a lot of work left to be done as these are the current numbers:
Godwin Field 37 spots remaining
G Lot 56
Hanson 40
P Lot 30
Parking Deck 156
Convo 639
D2 215
C4 209
Total 1,382 That is a lot of paid parking spaces. I guess they will sell continuously up through the season. I have no idea how this compares to other years historically.

What do they do with the empty spots in the better lots, leave them empty? Does anyone know what they've done in the past? I'm sure they like to have some flexibility for single-game VIPs or whatever, but that's a lot of empty prime spots.

Convo spaces (almost half of the open spaces) don't require any DC contribution, just season tickets. So I don't know if they should be considered "paid parking spaces".
