If we got Davis, I wouldn't start him Nichols together so Nichols can give the second unit a spark. It would be real ugly having Black and Goodwin replacing Davis and Nichols. I would have Davis and Nichols in the together down the stretch though. If Davis doesn't come, Nichols starts automatically.

And we are still assuming everyone comes back, which they may not. We have a couple of players eligible for graduate transfers.

What a perfect fit and a God send he would be for us.

Davis is a "junk yard dog" type that we've been missing down low.

They won't be the only one's to leave

Davis would be the absolute perfect fit on this team that would take us over the top, especially if Tarik stayed. Obviously, Davis would instantly be the starter on this team & would be the missing piece to a potential final four puzzle. He is also a perfect compliment to Austin Nichols, who both would supply the missing pieces. I would think Davis sees that as well. There are not many other programs out there where you can step in as the missing piece like he can here. Davis embodies everything we will be missing on this team next year &, with the great guard play we have, he will likely get much better.

Did everyone miss this in the link? His father told CBSSports.com he wants to transfer closer to his home in Alabama.

Memphis is not really closer to 'Bama is it?

I can't disagree with you JMSTiger! A modest expectation of the freshmen class alone puts the Tigers in a Elite 8/ outside-edge Final Four contention. Adding Davis puts the team in serious contention to win it all. It would be a major upgrade even if Tarik decided to leave

We gotta get this kid somehow. I know coaches are not allowed to contact potential transfers, but somebody's gotta get in Davis' ear.

Easterwood mentioned that if Minnesota didn't make the right hire, a couple of Memphis kids could look to transfer home. That would make NO sense though, as both of those players are legit NBA prospects and sitting out a year would be puzzling.

I remember after our last game with them during the CUSA tourney Davis stopped Josh and spoke in his ear for about 5 seconds. This was during when both teams give each other handshakes after the game. Wonder what that could have been about. That was his last game with Tulane. If anyone still has this game on DVR, you will see what I'm talking about.

The problem is that the analysis of people on this board concerning legit NBA prospects does not always match up with the people in the NBA that are actually making decisions.
