I have no info, but I could very well see GSU in play for the Atlanta Market.

Yes, TV markets THAT large are still important.

If GSU is pulled away by CUSA then I really think the SBC should immediately contact Kennesaw State to stay in the Atlanta Market.

haha good one....wait are you serious?

Just saying we're a charter member is all. I agree y'all stuck with it. We left after 5 years.

Of course he is! Meet FloridaJag! lol. He's ignored every fact about Kennesaw anyone brings up every time he brings them up. They're not a good add as is and have EXPLICITLY stated they are staying as is.

It's really being a bit naive to think the positions that Liberty chooses to take should have no consequence in sports conference allignment. Everything about a school is taken into consideration size, acedimics, location, whether it's private or public, etc., etc.

Liberty has put these hurdles up for themselves and it's thier cross to bare (pun intended) so don't try to put that off on other people.

If Liberty was in a position of influence when it came to conference realignment they would surely look at everything a school stands for when weilding that influence.

I assure you that LBGT University would have a good women's softball team but that's not what Jerry Falwell, Jr. would be thinking about when making his recomendation on thier acceptance. Right? So don't be hypocritical about it.

"Liberty University’s vice president and law school dean, Mathew Staver, for example, has also made several controversial comments. He's supported the criminalization of homosexuality in Malawi." Your compassion is a strange one indeed. Christ would have shown you a stone and asked if any of you are without sin? He would show true compassion to a Malawi.

RE: SBC losing two more?
I understand from the outside looking in Idaho doesn't look like a great add (mostly because it will be an outlier in the conference). But from a competition standpoint, Idaho will not bring down the level of competition, I promise you that. The last couple of years haven't been great, especially last season where Coach Akey essentially lost the team. But I can assure you Coach Petrino will bring a winning attitude to Moscow. If anything, we will score a lot of points and be entertaining.

3 years ago we were a few points away from going to a bowl game (the difference between a 6 win season and an 8 or 9 win season.

4 years ago we won a bowl game.

It is not inconceivable to see Idaho build a winning program.

The West are the ones who pushed for NMSU and Idaho. If they're not happy, I'm not sure who they can blame except themselves.
Saying they pushed for Idaho football only or NMSU football only is simply untrue.
Well someone had to vote, push for them to enter and I bet it wasn't Ga St, South Ala, or Troy I don't see any reason for them agreeing to such travel cost and adding 2 of the worst FBS FOOTBALL teams in the nation. It just doesn't make sense. Makes you think there is something big happening or Idaho is playing dirty politics leaking things hoping to get a invite. They can ask permission all they want, they need a invite.
More like, west says we want NMSU, east says no thanks we want App and GaSo and will hold this thing up for them but we will compromise and add NMSU football only. Well if we do that it is 11 and we need to go ahead and get 12. Idaho gets plugged in by default not desire.

As for travel, the west teams were getting hosed on travel no matter what happened. ASU and UL are now guaranteed at least one 1,000 mile trip every year. Texas State is guaranteed at least one and if the schedule falls wrong, they can get more.
That would make perfect sense also. All I'm saying is that while NMST makes sense Idaho is far fetched and unfortunately will bring down the competition in football whereas GSU and App ST brings it up. I bet the west did make a deal with the east, I just believe they could have found better candidates then a team from Moscow, Idaho. There is 2-3 schools that would be a great fit in the Sun Belt and where it might make the East/West line a little harder to define, there is better options closer to the geographical footprint. But according to Benson we will find out soon enough.
