RE: Sources say Tulsa out, WKU in soon.
no way is TxSt next on the list if things continue to change..
UTSA/UTEP/UNT/Rice.
That's four Texas schools as is... You want that much power to the conference put in one state?
That'd be fine if you were rerunning the SWC or a Texas Football Conference.. but for a full regional conference? doesn't happen.

Tulsa is in CUSA next year and maybe a year after that.
Im looking forward to the new CUSA West. I think its gonna be a pretty fun league next year in football and basketball.

Tulsa can always stay, but that would probably have someone like USM going instead

Why?
Between MTSU and WKU it's roughly 100 miles, but MTSU and UAB is 200. All 3 schools are just about on the same plane, but since most of the east schools are north of Tennessee's south borderline, don't you think it makes more sense for UAB to shift West?
East
ODU, Charlotte, Marshall, FIU, FAU, MTSU, WKU
West
UAB, USM, LTU, UNT, Rice, UTSA, UTEP
Of course, this could change... but we'll get to that later.
I have nothing against WKU, they are likely the next best add but it really screws up the divisions. I think CUSA has to stay with East/ West alignment. If UAB moves West the Herd will have no existing Division rivals. While I am happy with all the adds, not playing USM & UAB regularly would suck. Not hang myself suck, but ah shucks sucks. WKU is a fine add but...

He's not wrong on this one. I mentioned this in a thread a couple weeks ago. I'm looking forward to having WKU. I'm also hearing there might be another twist to how this all unfolds before its all said and done. Lets just say that there is another possibility being talked about that could occur. Separate from the WKU/Tulsa situation. And no, I'm not talking about any more schools leaving CUSA. Totally different situation. Stay tuned over the next several weeks.

WKU is a better program overall than Tulsa, anyway. They're young, but after a few years, WKU will have similar fame and success. I'm partial to WKU for some weird reason.

I think for me it's because Tech used to have a rivalry with WKU like we did with USM

We (until this year) have had a nice little basketball rivalry and they pull good name recognition. They have an excellent basketball program. And despite what you think of Bobby Petrino, it was a huge grab.

Pretty good football and very good basketball. Hamstrung by the Sun Belt, thus getting them a 16 seed and forcing them to play Kansas.

Tulsa has the better football tradition right now while WKU has the better basketball tradition.
It might take a little while for football to totally catch up in CUSA but the basketball side of things for CUSA is going to be a stronger league from top to bottom than what it has been the last 7-8 years.

That's why I'm cool with CUSA, especially with WKU. While we had an off-year in basketball, we have a great recruiting class, a good basketball fanbase and hopefully Bumford will eventually channel some Marquette.

Overall? You guys have good/great football and average basketball. WKU has good/great basketball and good football. A lot of potential.

hamstrung? WKU went 16-15 in the regular season this year, and struggled to reach .500 in league play. Its not like they were the 2nd best team in the league and got shafted with a 26 win season. They were going to be a 15 or 16 seed, everyone knew that.

I guess they were also hamstrung by the Sun Belt when they were 8 or 9 seeds. Or, when they made the Top 25, or when they made the Sweet 16s.
