How cool would it be for C-USA if Houston/Tulsa won the CBI, ECU/Tulane won the CIT, and USM/Charlotte won the NIT? Not outside the realm of possibility by any means.

Both started about 5 years back. The CBI is a step up from the CIT (teams from "major conferences" that got passed over for either the NCAA/NIT) whereas the CIT draws mostly from the "Midmajor" basketball conferences, but both tournaments are for the most trying to get the same teams. One big difference for the CBI, is that the championship is a best of 3 series. Both have a "reseeding" after each round of games.

Honestly other than they offer post season play and have some odd financial deals to host, i.e. pay to play kind of deals, they are relatively new post season tourneys.

The NIT and NCAA tourneys are funded via the NCAA so to speak. These guys have you put up front money to join/play/host.

So, if that happens, who gets the yell, "Yay!, we're the 69th best team!!! "?

Great West is a new conference, they don't have an autobid to the NCAA so the CIT gives them an autobid. Liberty is 15-20 and in the NCAA's.

same 01-rivals different stain.

Although less than an ideal setting, it is always fun to watch your own team play and it gives an opportunity for team development for next season.

MTSU better get it in motion. They'll ruin my bracket and it's just the first day.

Watch CIT games here for free:

Sav St was up 15 at one point but ECU starting hitting 3s and pressing. I really enjoyed the ECU announcers. They were exciting yet knowledgeable and not overly homerish.
