Out of my own curiosity, any specifics?

Google will tell you better than I, but that is one example of the code of conduct.
That is just the student code (some pretty harsh restrictions in there, books, music, movies, curfew, no right to organize or petition, etc.)
They also refuse to hire homosexuals (which is fine, they are private, but don't expect me to want to have you in my conference).
They also have some extremists on staff that want to jail homosexuals and "homosexual sympathizers".

RE: Objectivity, Something Rare on this Board
Conferences are usually built on like-minded institutions. There is nothing like-minded with Liberty and the rest of the Sun Belt. They would be the only private institution. They would be the only faith-based institution. They need to join a conference of other schools similar to them.
They are a PR nightmare waiting to happen. Just a matter of time before someone representing their institution says some radical and judgmental thing that gets everyone in a tizzy. Then, you have that very school rolling on your campus to play a game. Potential for protests, boycotts, etc. Sounds extreme, but I could certainly see some more liberal organizations on and off campus at any one of our schools wanting to make a scene at a game against a school like Liberty.

I'm just tired of all the Liberty threads. I can't even contribute because there's nothing to say that hasn't already been said.

And among their students (and probably faculty too) are hundreds of people who are homosexual but covering it up. Those people are most at risk because they are hearing this hate come from their school and fighting some internal battles with themselves. It leads to feelings of no self-worth and often leads those people to living a lifetime of unhappiness, killing (or attempting to kill) themselves, or becoming an extremist the other direction. Instead of hearing about God's Love from their school (hate the sin but love the sinner) they are only hearing the hate. You can have any view on it that you want to, but when you throw hate at people or groups of people it can have very damaging effects on them.

And....here....we...go...again. Down the trail of misinformation and guess work. I especially like how noone even read my post about positive things LU offers. Come on down to Lynchburg, pay us a visit, and you will feel completely different I assure you. I'm done on this thread, since it is no longer about athletics. Just understand that Liberty will be FBS soon enough.

I do say, that is a quite a nice hat indeed. Quite really. I bet he fancies himself a bottle of Chateau Cheval Blanc? Indeed.

Yeah. The articles we post with evidence of our claims are just misinformation. Take off your rose colored glasses sometime and look at your school from an objective point of view.

And Lynchburg is a hilariously suitable name for Liberty's hometown.

People read all about your Women's Tennis program (and other programs.) Many of us just have other issues with Liberty. I know a couple graduates of Liberty. I've heard the speech and I've heard the hate. Just not something I want to support. And I am a church-going, Bible believing person. So it is nothing anti-Christian.
I think the theme is, despite any potential upside on the athletics side, the other dynamics that Liberty brings are something of a concern for people. That is something an organization is going to have to live with if they are going to say the things they say and believe the things they believe.

Articles were cited in other threads that were dismissed out of hand. I was not specifically referring to the one just posted recently.

RE: Objectivity, Something Rare on this Board
If public institutions don't have issues with controversial private religious institutions explain why BYU didn't get a call from the Pac-12 despite BYU's long history of success across multiple sports, far greater TV profile, and larger fan base.
But more relevant to the point of the
ASU 775 miles, UALR 842, ULM 923, UL 1,023
Two of those schools are as close or closer to NMSU, a school they have had a positive relationship with, that is more alike them academically, and is already FBS.

RE: Objectivity, Something Rare on this Board
Here is a couple thoughts Liberty Fans.
1. The Presidents that vote don't come to this board before casting votes, so lobbing here does not increase your chances.
2. And if winning basketball games and conference chanpionships
had anything to do with conference invitations WKU would have its pick of any conference to join.
3. So your big win over WKU women's tennis doesn't carry any weight.
